Genetics & Origin of Amnesia Gold
According to Pyramid Seeds, Amnesia Gold is the result of years of breeding work. Lennon and Amnesia were crossed, both of which the breeder assigns to Haze genetics. It describes the breeding goal clearly: a powerful, fast-flowering Sativa with full flavour, a strong effect and high suitability for open ground. The result is a hybrid with 75% Sativa and 25% Indica that grows quickly and forms strong side branches. Pyramid Seeds gives the THC content as 26% and the CBD content as below 1%. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. Who Is Amnesia Gold For?
Amnesia Gold brings Haze character with a strong yield. Because of the very high THC content, the outdoor harvest lasting into the third week of October and a flowering time of up to 75 days, we rate it as a strain for experienced growers. It suits:
- Experienced growers who can plan for 65 to 75 days of flowering
- Haze fans who like citrus aromas with a sweet finish
- Indoor growers with enough headroom for up to 160 cm
- Outdoor gardeners in locations with a long, sunny autumn
- Experienced consumers looking for a stimulating, wakeful effect
The strain is less suitable for a first grow and for anyone who wants to wind down in the evening. You can find more strains for open ground under outdoor seeds.
Growing Amnesia Gold: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Pyramid Seeds, Amnesia Gold grows 60 to 160 cm tall and flowers for 65 to 75 days, or 58 to 68 days under LED light. The manufacturer speaks of a fast-flowering Sativa and of a Haze feeling without an endless flowering time; compared with many hybrids, however, it is still a rather long flowering period that you need to plan for. It states a yield of around 500 g/m²; with a 720-watt LED, up to 800 to 850 g are said to be possible on 1.5 m². The plants grow quickly and form strong side branches. Because the height can vary considerably, it is worth topping early or tying shoots down so that the canopy stays even. Pyramid Seeds gives no training recommendations of its own. You will find the basics on light and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the strain reaches 150 to 300 cm and, according to the manufacturer, is harvested in Europe in the second to third week of October. Pyramid Seeds expressly highlights its outdoor strength and puts the yield at 0.5 to 1.5 kg per plant. For the late harvest you need a sunny, sheltered spot and a dry autumn; the tall plants should be supported against wind. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Amnesia Gold
Amnesia Gold has an intensely lemony scent with light herbal notes. When smoked, the citrus freshness turns into a pleasantly sweet finish, according to Pyramid Seeds – the manufacturer speaks of "pure Haze": fruity, clear and intense. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It clearly assigns the effect to the Sativa side: psychoactive, euphoric and creative, with a typical Sativa rush that energises and keeps you awake. Pyramid Seeds recommends the strain to experienced consumers looking for a stimulating high. The stated values are 26% THC and below 1% CBD. A wakeful strain like this fits the daytime better than the late evening. How strong the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
