Genetics & Origin of Amnesia Haze
Amnesia Haze is one of the best-known Sativa strains worldwide and is listed in the strain description as a multiple award winner, without individual awards being named. According to the strain description, its story begins with a hybrid that was further refined in Holland and finally crossed with old Haze seeds by a US expatriate; the genetics are accordingly given as Original Haze hybrid × Old School Haze. Royal Queen Seeds offers this line as a feminised, photoperiod version. It is a Sativa-dominant hybrid, and a percentage ratio is missing from the description. The THC content is given as 22% and more, the CBD content as medium, without a figure. If you would like to work with male and female plants, you will find Amnesia Haze Regular from the same breeder; for comparison, Amnesia Haze by Nirvana is also in our range.
Who Is Amnesia Haze For?
Amnesia Haze is a Haze classic for the patient. It suits:
- Experienced growers who can plan for 12 weeks of flowering
- Haze lovers looking for lemony-fruity aromas
- Sea of Green growers who want to limit the plant height in the tent
- Outdoor gardeners in a Mediterranean or subtropical climate as well as greenhouse owners
- Experienced consumers who appreciate a very strong, creative effect
It is less suitable for beginners and the impatient: flowering takes around 12 weeks, and outdoors harvest is not until mid to late October. You can find more potent strains under top-THC strains.
Growing Amnesia Haze: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
The description states a flowering time of around 12 weeks – so Amnesia Haze is not for the impatient. Indoors, at 80 to 140 cm, it stays fairly manageable for a Haze and produces 600 to 650 g/m². The strain is listed for the Sea of Green, which keeps the vegetative phase short and limits the height. Over such a long flowering time, a stable climate and an even supply pay off; the lush, resin-coated buds need good air movement in the final weeks. The description expressly recommends it to experienced growers with patience. You can read more about climate and growing methods in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors or in a greenhouse, Amnesia Haze grows 175 to 210 cm tall and is ready for harvest in mid to late October in the northern hemisphere. Under ideal conditions, 650 to 700 g per plant are stated. The strain prefers hot climate zones – North Africa, California and Australia are named, i.e. Mediterranean to subtropical locations. In cooler regions a sheltered greenhouse is the recommended solution so that the late flowering ripens safely. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Amnesia Haze
The scent of Amnesia Haze is fresh and lemony-fruity with an earthy Haze note, the flavour sweetish-fruity with a spicy undertone – according to the description intense, complex and with a long-lasting finish. A lab terpene profile is not given. According to the description, the buds are lush and coated in resin. The effect is described as extremely strong, psychedelic, creative and long-lasting, accompanied by a relaxing body note. The description calls the strain a classic for experienced consumers and points out that, true to its name, it can trigger amnesia effects. The THC content is 22% and more. So dose with restraint; how intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
