Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Amnesia
According to the breeder, the starting point of Amnesia by World of Seeds was a Thai genetic line, known for its lemony-spicy aroma and its stimulating effect. It was crossed with a Skunk male to improve flower density and resin production, and then backcrossed with selected Cinderella 99 and Jack Herer males. The manufacturer gives the genetics as Thai × Skunk × Cinderella 99 × Jack Herer and the ratio as 70% Sativa to 30% Indica. The result is more compact, extremely resinous flowers and high productivity. World of Seeds states 15 to 20% THC and a medium CBD content, said to be above that of pure Thai lines. The strain was awarded 2nd place Indoor at La Bella Flor 2009 in Málaga. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. You will also find a Jack Herer in our range in the form of Jack Herer by Sensi Seeds.
Who Is Amnesia For?
In the shop, Amnesia is rated as a strain for experienced growers. It suits:
- Experienced growers looking for a Sativa hybrid with a manageable flowering time
- Indoor growers with good ventilation and effective odour control
- Outdoor gardeners with a warm, sunny spot
- Lovers of complex aromas of citrus and incense
- Experienced consumers who appreciate a clear, creative head high
It is less suitable if you have to grow inconspicuously – the manufacturer points out the high odour intensity – or are looking for a heavy, body-focused effect in the evening. You can find more feminised strains for indoors under indoor seeds.
Growing Amnesia: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to World of Seeds, Amnesia flowers for 60 to 70 days – for a strain with 70% Sativa, the manufacturer calls that a manageable time frame. It gives the yield as 400 to 500 g/m². It expressly recommends good ventilation because resistance to mould and pests is only in the medium range; so pay attention to air movement and controlled humidity in late flowering. Added to this is the high odour intensity, which makes a powerful carbon filter sensible. The breeder does not give a height in centimetres; with Sativa-dominant strains, it is worth planning for the stretch after the switch to 12/12. In the shop, the strain is rated for experienced growers. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For growing outdoors, World of Seeds states a harvest at the beginning of October and 350 to 700 g per plant. According to the manufacturer, the strain is suitable for warm, sunny locations and offers a good ratio of effort to yield there. Because mould resistance is only medium, an airy spot protected from rain is an advantage. The breeder does not give an outdoor height. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Amnesia
According to World of Seeds, the scent of Amnesia is intense and citrusy with a strong incense note; the manufacturer describes the flavour as complex – fruity, sweetish-sharp, with a spicy finish. It does not name individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. It classes the effect as typically Sativa: intensely cerebral, creativity-enhancing, stimulating and long-lasting, with focused clarity and yet easy to control. World of Seeds recommends the strain to experienced users. The THC content is 15 to 20%, and the CBD content is given as medium. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
