Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Big Devil XL
According to the strain description, Auto Big Devil XL is the further developed version of Big Devil #2 Auto: even bigger, more resinous and higher-yielding. For this third-generation autoflower, the breeder crossed Big Devil #2 Auto with a Jack Herer Auto from its own breeding programme. The result is 100% autoflowering and is described as an extra-large autoflower with XL yield potential. Sweet Seeds states no Indica-to-Sativa ratio, nor a THC value. The seeds are feminised. The manufacturer cites two awards: 1st place in the Auto category at the Copa Cannábica Expogrow in Irún 2014 and 1st place as Auto of the Year at the Soft Secrets High Life Cup 2014. The strain shares its name with Big Devil – Fast Version, also from Sweet Seeds.
Who Is Auto Big Devil XL For?
Auto Big Devil XL is an autoflower for anyone who can offer space and light. It suits:
- Growers with large tents who want to get the maximum out of an autoflower
- Beginners with enough space – the manufacturer calls the strain low-maintenance
- Experienced autoflower gardeners working towards high yields
- Outdoor gardeners with a sunny spot
- Lovers of spicy, citrusy aromas with a touch of Haze
It is less suitable for small grow boxes or low cabinets – Sweet Seeds itself says it is not for small grows. You can find more high-yielding autoflowers under high-yield autoflowering.
Growing Auto Big Devil XL: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Sweet Seeds gives the entire cycle as about 9½ weeks from germination; the manufacturer does not state a separate flowering time. The light cycle does not need to be switched. At 110 to 160 cm, the plant grows very tall for an autoflower, which is why the breeder recommends large tents and primarily addresses experienced autoflower gardeners. According to the manufacturer, the yield is 425 to 650 g/m². Because growth stalls can hardly be made up for with autoflowers, it is best to sow the seeds directly into the final pot and provide plenty of light from the start. The massive buds need support and good air movement. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Sweet Seeds states 50 to 350 g per plant – a wide range in which pot size, sun and sowing date are decisive. The manufacturer describes a tall-growing autoflower for which space and sun pay off; it does not give an outdoor height in centimetres. Time your sowing so that the roughly 9½ weeks fall in the brightest and warmest months. You can find more strains for outdoors under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Big Devil XL
Sweet Seeds describes the scent as incense with a fresh lemon note and the flavour as spicy and citrusy with a sweet finish – classic, with a touch of Haze. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is described briefly as a balanced high with a slightly cerebral note, which the breeder recommends for relaxed afternoons and creative breaks. The strain description reveals no more: neither a THC value nor a CBD value nor an Indica-Sativa ratio is given, which is why we do not rate its strength. Approach your first harvest with corresponding caution. How intensely Auto Big Devil XL works depends on dose and individual tolerance.
