Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Black Dog
Behind Auto Black Dog – the breeder calls it Black Dog Auto – are two strains that Original Sensible Seeds describes as Californian classics: Blackberry Kush and Headband. They were combined with the house's Super Auto genetics, resulting in a feminised autoflower that flowers without the light cycle being switched. The manufacturer gives 80% Indica and 20% Sativa and states 20% THC; it does not state a CBD value. It describes dark, robust plants with almost black leaves, sticky flowers, remarkably high yields and a strain that forgives mistakes. You will find a Headband line from another breeder in our range in the form of Humboldt Headband by Humboldt Seed Company.
Who Is Auto Black Dog For?
Auto Black Dog is a very fast, strongly Indica-leaning autoflower. It suits:
- Growers who want to harvest around 60 days after sowing
- Indoor gardeners who have to make do with a height of 60 to 120 cm
- Balcony and garden growers – the manufacturer names cool, temperate and hot regions
- Lovers of dark-coloured plants and fruity grape and berry aromas
- Consumers looking for a strongly calming Indica in the evening
For active hours during the day, the strain – strongly sedating according to the manufacturer – is less suitable. You can find more autoflowers of every type under autoflowering seeds.
Growing Auto Black Dog: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
According to the manufacturer, around 60 days pass from seed to harvest with Auto Black Dog; this means the entire life cycle, and Original Sensible Seeds does not state a separate flowering time. The plants grow 60 to 120 cm tall, and the breeder gives the yield as 600 g/m². It describes the strain as robust and forgiving of mistakes. In such a short cycle every day still counts: sow straight into the final pot and avoid stress in the first weeks. Towards the end, the sticky flowers do not like high humidity. The basics on climate and watering are in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors too, the manufacturer states a height of 60 to 120 cm; by its account the yield is 150 g per plant. As climate, Original Sensible Seeds lists cool, temperate and hot regions, which fits the description as a robust strain. Because the cycle lasts only around two months, you can freely place the sowing date in the warm season. A sunny spot delivers the best results. More strains for open ground are listed under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Auto Black Dog
Between the dark leaves of Auto Black Dog sit sticky, syrupy flowers with a pronounced aroma of juicy grapes and berries. The manufacturer also describes a nutty undertone and an earthy Kush base. Original Sensible Seeds names myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene as the defining terpenes. The breeder portrays the effect as strongly sedating and deeply calming, suited to relaxed days at home or to the evening hours – just as you would expect from a powerful Indica. The THC content is given as 20%; the manufacturer does not state a CBD value. How heavy the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
