Genetics & Origin of Auto Critical Orange Punch

Auto Critical Orange Punch is a hybrid with roughly equal parts Indica and Sativa, complemented by Ruderalis traits for automatic flowering. Its parent line Orange Punch traces back to Granddaddy Purple and Dutch Passion's fruity Orange Bud line – hence the orange-citrus aroma. The other side of the pedigree is XXL Auto Critical Bilbo, a high-yielding, compact autoflower known for vigorous growth and good resin production. Dutch Passion is one of the pioneers of autoflowering breeding and has been working on stable, easy-to-grow lines for decades. The strain is also part of a small family: with Auto Candy Bubatz XL there is an offspring in the range that carries these genetics forward. If you are looking for a related orange aroma, you will also find Auto Orange Gorilla XL.

Who Is Auto Critical Orange Punch For?

Auto Critical Orange Punch is an uncomplicated, high-yielding autoflower. It is particularly well suited for:

• Growers who prefer a low-maintenance strain without switching the light cycle
• Growers who want good yields of 450 to 600 g/m² with little effort
• Indoor gardeners with low ceilings or small tents who appreciate compact plants of 70 to 100 cm
• Outdoor growers who plan several harvests per year in a short season
• Fans of orange, mandarin and citrus aromas with an earthy undertone

You will find more fast, high-yielding strains in the autoflowering: high yield, short flowering category.

Growing Auto Critical Orange Punch: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

Indoors, the time from seed to harvest is around 75 days, i.e. 10 to 12 weeks. The plants reach 70 to 100 cm and, under good conditions, 450 to 600 g/m². With autoflowers, sowing straight into the final pot avoids transplant stress. Even light, gentle LST and moderate feeding are usually enough; heavy topping should be avoided. Because the buds become dense and resinous, good air circulation and controlled humidity help in the late phase. You will find practical tips in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

Outdoors, the plant is ready to harvest after about 85 to 90 days. The breeder describes the yield per plant as medium and does not give a specific gram figure. A sunny, warm location gives the best results. Thanks to the short grow time, the strain can also be grown in regions with shorter summers. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Auto Critical Orange Punch – Effect, Aroma & Terpenes

Aromatically, the strain is sweet and slightly sour with clear notes of orange, mandarin and lemon, accompanied by earthy, pine-like and hash-like undertones. No batch-specific lab terpene profile is available; citrus aromas are generally associated with limonene. With a THC content of over 19%, the effect begins euphoric, mood-lifting and energetic before turning into a relaxing, physical feeling. Intensity depends on dose and personal tolerance.
