Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Moby Dick
Auto Moby Dick goes back to two autoflowering lines: Silent Seeds crossed White Widow Auto with Haze 2.0 Auto. The breeder lists the strain as Sativa-dominant but does not state a ratio in per cent. According to its figures, the THC content is 15 to 22%, and the CBD content is shown as low. Silent Seeds points out that many Haze strains have become rarer over time and sees the strength of this autoflower in the combination of Haze character and high harvests. The seeds are feminised and autoflowering: the plants go into flower independently of the light cycle. If you would like to compare, you will find the Auto Moby Dick by Barney's Farm of the same name and, from the same breeder, White Widow by Silent Seeds in our range.
Who Is Auto Moby Dick For?
Auto Moby Dick brings Haze character into an autoflowering format. It suits:
- Haze lovers who would like to grow without switching the light
- Indoor growers aiming for the up to 500 g/m² stated by the manufacturer
- Gardeners with room for plants about 1.4 m tall outdoors
- Growers who want to harvest outdoors between late June and late October
- Consumers who appreciate a strong, long-lasting effect
It is less suitable if you are looking for a particularly low plant or a CBD-rich strain. You can find more autoflowering strains for open ground under automatic seeds outdoor.
Growing Auto Moby Dick: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
As an autoflower, Auto Moby Dick needs no switch of the light cycle. For indoor growing, Silent Seeds states 70 to 80 days and lists this range as the flowering time; the breeder does not say whether this is counted from germination or from the start of flowering. From seed to harvest, 10 to 11 weeks is quoted; the trichomes are decisive for the harvest date. The manufacturer puts the yield at up to 500 g/m². It does not state a height for indoors; with a Sativa-dominant plant you should allow a little headroom. Gentle tying down distributes the light better. More on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the strain reaches 1.4 m according to Silent Seeds. The breeder gives late June to late October as the harvest time; with an autoflower the date depends on sowing. It gives the yield as 100 to 250 g per plant; elsewhere there is mention of up to 230 g. A spot in full sun, sheltered from the wind, and a sufficiently large pot help to make full use of this potential. Time the sowing so that the cycle falls in the warm months. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Moby Dick
In terms of flavour, Silent Seeds describes Auto Moby Dick as sweet and fruity, joined by Haze and floral notes. For the aroma, the breeder cites citrus, pine, cedar and various spices. The manufacturer does not give individual terpenes or a lab profile. It describes the effect as strong and long-lasting, and at the same time balanced between body and mind. Silent Seeds gives the THC content as 15 to 22% – a wide range, for which you should rather assume the upper value. The CBD content is low. Start with a small amount and wait for the effect; how intense it is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
