Genetics & Origin of Auto Polar Gelato by Sherbinskis

Auto Polar Gelato is the autoflowering version of Polar Gelato, on which the teams of Silent Seeds and Sherbinskis worked together. Polar Gelato was crossed with Bacio Gelato Auto. The manufacturer gives the genotype as hybrid, without putting figures on the Indica and Sativa shares. According to Silent Seeds, the THC content is 20 to 23% and the CBD content 0.01 to 0.2%. According to the manufacturer, the aim was a Gelato auto hybrid that stays true to the aroma and flavour of the original version; the structure of the plant turns out more compact in the process. At the Autoflowering World Cup 2023 in Spain, the strain took second place in the flower category, according to Silent Seeds. The seeds are feminised. You will also find the photoperiod original strain in our range as Polar Gelato by Sherbinskis.

Who Is Auto Polar Gelato by Sherbinskis For?

• Outdoor gardeners who prefer plants of 0.7 to 1.2 m

Growing Auto Polar Gelato by Sherbinskis: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

As an autoflower, Auto Polar Gelato flowers independently of the light cycle. Silent Seeds states 80 to 90 days and lists the figure in the data sheet under “indoor flowering time”; the same range is also given as the entire cycle from germination to harvest, i.e. around 11 to 13 weeks. To be on the safe side, plan with the upper end and judge ripeness by the trichomes. The manufacturer gives the indoor yield as 500 to 550 g/m². It does not state an indoor height; it describes the structure as less sprawling than in the photoperiod version, with tighter internodes, and depending on the phenotype the plant can, according to its information, be kept at medium size. You will find the basics on growing automatics in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

Outdoors, according to Silent Seeds, the strain grows 0.7 to 1.2 m tall and delivers 115 to 270 g per plant. The manufacturer gives late June to late October as the harvest period – exactly when you harvest depends, with an autoflower, on the sowing date. A spot in full sun and a sowing date with which the cycle falls in the warmest weeks are the safe choice. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Polar Gelato by Sherbinskis

Silent Seeds sums up the flavour in three terms: gourmet, biscuit and ice-cream dessert – in other words, a biscuit-based ice-cream dessert that is meant to stay true to the original Polar Gelato. Depending on the phenotype, the profile turns out rather floral or more balanced, according to the manufacturer. It does not name individual terpenes. Silent Seeds describes the effect as more relaxing than with the photoperiod predecessor. With 20 to 23% THC and at most 0.2% CBD, Auto Polar Gelato is a strong strain for which a cautious first dose is advisable. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and individual tolerance.
