Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Purple Punch
Auto Purple Punch is the autoflowering version of Purple Punch, a dessert strain known for sweet berry and candy aromas. To create it, the breeders at Royal Queen Seeds crossed it with Old Skunk Auto. The result consists of 75% Indica, 20% Sativa and 5% Ruderalis. According to the manufacturer, Old Skunk is considered robust and has already passed stable growth characteristics on to many strains – this is meant to show here too. With 19% THC, the autoflower does not have to hide behind photoperiod strains, according to the breeder; the data sheet lists the CBD content as “Medium” without a figure. The seeds are feminised and flower independently of the light cycle. You will find the photoperiod sister in our range as Purple Punch by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Auto Purple Punch For?
Auto Purple Punch is a compact Indica autoflower with a short cycle. It suits:
- Growers with little space, for instance in a small tent or on a balcony or terrace
- Gardeners who would like to harvest 9 to 10 weeks after germination
- Lovers of sweet candy aromas with berry and grape notes
- Consumers looking for a physically relaxing effect in the evening
- Fans of Purple Punch who want an autoflowering variant
If you are looking for large yields per plant or a stimulating daytime strain, you are better served by a photoperiod Sativa. You can find more strains for outdoors under automatic seeds outdoor.
Growing Auto Purple Punch: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Royal Queen Seeds, Auto Purple Punch grows 60 to 100 cm tall and only rarely exceeds one metre. The flowering phase lasts 7 to 8 weeks; from germination to harvest a total of 9 to 10 weeks pass. The light cycle does not need to be switched for this. As the yield, the manufacturer states 350 to 400 g/m². As autoflowers have little time to recover from stress, many growers place the seeds directly in the final pot and limit themselves to gentle training. Good air movement protects the compact flowers in the final weeks. You will find the basics on growing in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the strain grows only slightly taller at 80 to 120 cm and is therefore, according to the manufacturer, well suited to balconies and terraces. The data sheet states 80 to 130 g per plant, while elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of up to 150 g. Royal Queen Seeds gives “mild” as the climate zone. The breeder attributes the robustness to Old Skunk. Time your sowing so that the 9 to 10 weeks fall in the warmest and brightest time of the year. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Purple Punch
According to the manufacturer, Auto Purple Punch tastes of candy: a mixture of berries and grapes with tart and fresh notes; the data sheet sums up the flavour as “fruity” and “sweets”. Royal Queen Seeds does not state a lab terpene profile. The breeder describes the high as largely physical and “stoning” – it recommends the strain for relaxing at night. On this the data sheet says tersely: physically relaxing. With 19% THC it delivers a strong effect, according to the manufacturer. How intensely you experience the effect depends on the dose and your personal tolerance; so start with a small amount.
