Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Runtz
After the success of Runtz, it was an obvious step for Barney's Farm to follow up with an autoflowering version. To do so, the breeder crossed Runtz with BF Super Auto #1. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid with 70% Indica and 30% Sativa which, according to the manufacturer, is meant to deliver the same overall package as the original, only in a considerably shorter time window. According to the breeder, some of Runtz's unusual flavour notes have also been preserved. The seeds are feminised and autoflowering: the plants go into flower independently of the light cycle. The data sheet gives no information on THC and CBD content; the manufacturer merely speaks of flowers coated in a layer of various cannabinoids. You will also find the photoperiod original strain Runtz by Barney's Farm in our range.
Who Is Auto Runtz For?
Auto Runtz brings a well-known aroma profile into a short cycle. It suits:
- Runtz fans who do not want to wait for a photoperiod flowering time
- Growers who want to get from seed to harvest in 63 to 70 days
- Indoor gardeners with room for plants 100 to 120 cm tall
- Lovers of sweet, fruity aromas with a note of sweets
- Consumers looking for a relaxing and at the same time euphoric effect
If you attach importance to a stated THC content, you will not find it with this strain – it is less suitable for that. More fast, high-yielding autoflowers are listed under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Auto Runtz: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Barney's Farm gives the life cycle of Auto Runtz as 63 to 70 days from seed to harvest; elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of “just 70 days”. The manufacturer does not state a separate flowering time, and the light cycle does not need to be switched. Indoors, the plants reach 100 to 120 cm. Under the right lighting conditions, up to 600 g/m² are possible according to the breeder. Because the cycle is so short, it is worth growing the plants in their final pot from the start and avoiding stress. The resinous flowers and the sweet aroma speak for good air extraction with a carbon filter. You will find the basics on light, climate and feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Auto Runtz grows 120 to 140 cm tall according to the data sheet. As the strain is autoflowering, the harvest date depends on sowing: the manufacturer states 63 to 70 days from seed to harvest. The data sheet does not show a clear outdoor yield per plant. A sunny, sheltered spot makes the best use of the short cycle. More strains for open ground are available under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Runtz
In terms of flavour, Auto Runtz stays close to the original according to Barney's Farm: the data sheet describes the flavour as sweet, tropical and fruity and names sweetness, fruit and sweets as scent notes. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The data sheet sums up the effect as calming, relaxing and euphoric. Elsewhere, the breeder speaks of a balanced hybrid that relaxes deeply, releases mental tension and at the same time leaves a positive underlying mood for the day. Barney's Farm does not show a THC value for this strain; we therefore do not add a figure. With an unfamiliar strain, it is best to feel your way with a small amount. How intense the effect is in an individual case depends on dose and individual tolerance.
