Backyard Banana Regular 12 seeds

Genetics & Origin of Backyard Banana

Backyard Banana is the first joint strain from Perfect Tree Seeds and Tricoma Gold Genetics, a breeder based in Spain that became known for the strain The Backyard Candies. The Perfect Tree team pollinated that breeder's cut of Backyard Candies with its own Banana Punch male; the cross was presented as a new hybrid for 2024. According to the manufacturer, one main aim was the highest possible resin production, as both breeders describe themselves as big hash fans. Perfect Tree lists the strain as an Indica-dominant hybrid; the manufacturer does not state a percentage ratio or a THC value. The seeds are regular and photoperiod: they produce male and female plants, which makes the strain interesting for selection and your own breeding projects. You will find a Banana Punch from another breeder in our range with the Banana Punch by Barney's Farm.

Who Is Backyard Banana For?

Backyard Banana was bred for resin and aroma. It suits:

• Hash makers looking for a strain for washing
• Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from regular seeds
• Hobby breeders who would also like to use male plants
• Growers with enough room height for plants that like to stretch
• Lovers of tropical, fruity banana aromas

If you have only little height available or would like to grow without any selection work, this strain is less well suited to you. You can find more strains for selecting under regular seeds for outdoor growing and among the breeder's other lines, such as Lemons & Bananas Regular.

Growing Backyard Banana: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

Perfect Tree states a flowering time of 8 weeks and describes Backyard Banana as a fast-flowering strain. The growth pattern needs to be borne in mind: according to the manufacturer, the plants can get pretty tall and stretch noticeably once more after the switch to 12/12. So do not send them into flower too big and allow for distance to the lamp; the breeder does not give a height in centimetres. When grown properly, the strain is very high-yielding according to the manufacturer, although a figure in g/m² is missing. Because the seeds are regular, you germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep, determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove the males unless pollination is planned. You will find the basics on this in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

Perfect Tree lists Backyard Banana for indoors and outdoors. In the shop, the outdoor harvest is classified for October; the manufacturer does not state a more precise date, a height or a yield per plant. Because of their tall growth, the plants need space in open ground and a sunny spot sheltered from the wind. Outdoors, too, you should spot and remove male plants early if no seeds are to be produced. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Backyard Banana

According to Perfect Tree, the aroma is hard to describe: a blend of tropical fruit and exotic banana notes, summed up briefly in the data sheet as tropical fruit and fried bananas. According to the manufacturer, the complex fruit aromas come from the Backyard Candies mother. The breeder does not name individual terpenes or a lab profile. The resin is striking: Perfect Tree describes the trichome glands as outstanding and present in great abundance, which is why the strain is expressly regarded as a candidate for washing, i.e. for hash making. The manufacturer describes the effect succinctly as strong and mood-lifting. It does not give a THC value. With regular seeds, individual plants also differ noticeably; how strong the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and tolerance.

Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
