Genetics & Origin of Bahia Black Head
For Bahia Black Head, KC Brains crossed a pure Brazilian Sativa with two K.C. 606 males. The aim, according to the breeder: to retain the qualities of the Brazilian Sativa but bring ripening forward far enough to make outdoor growing possible in temperate zones too. The result is a predominantly Sativa-influenced hybrid, which the manufacturer describes as vigorous as well as resistant to pests and mould. KC Brains does not state a THC or CBD value. The strain is photoperiod and is offered here as regular seed: the seeds grow into male and female plants, which allows selection and your own crosses. If you are looking for more regular lines from the breeder, you will find, for example, Mind Bender Regular in our range.
Who Is Bahia Black Head For?
Bahia Black Head is first and foremost an outdoor strain. It suits:
- Outdoor gardeners with room for plants 2 to 2.5 m tall
- Growers who value resistance to pests and mould
- Selectors and hobby breeders who work with regular seeds
- Fans of Sativa-leaning genetics of Brazilian origin
- Growers who want little smell in early flowering
The strain is less suitable if you only want female plants or need information on THC content and effect, which the breeder does not provide. You can find more strains under regular Sativa strains.
Growing Bahia Black Head: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
According to KC Brains, growing in a grow room is possible, even though the strain only shows its full potential outdoors. The manufacturer states 8 to 10 weeks for the flowering time. According to the manufacturer, the plants stay slender and grow no taller than about 80 cm indoors. The breeder does not give a yield in g/m²; the branches are said to become covered with plenty of medium-sized flowers. Apparently, topping the plants at the third or fourth node is recommended to increase flower formation. Remove male plants in pre-flowering if pollination is not wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Bahia Black Head forms vigorous bushes 2 to 2.5 m tall and, according to the manufacturer, yields up to 850 g per plant. According to its information, harvest takes place in August and September, from mid to late August – the early ripening was bred in precisely for this. It is best to determine the exact time by the ripeness of the trichomes. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Bahia Black Head
KC Brains reveals only a little about aroma and effect. According to the manufacturer, the strain has no particular smell in early flowering; towards the end it becomes somewhat sharper and develops an earthy hash flavour. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile, nor a THC or CBD content. On the effect, the strain description only says briefly that the strain delivers a clear, energetic high; it also mentions dark buds. The breeder speaks of the "exquisite qualities" of the Brazilian Sativa without going into further detail – we deliberately do not add any estimates of our own here. With regular seeds, individual plants also turn out differently. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
