Bahia Black Head 5 seeds

Genetics & Origin of Bahia Black Head

Bahia Black Head is a Sativa-dominant hybrid from KC Brains. According to the breeder, a pure Brazilian Sativa was crossed with two male plants of the in-house K.C. 606. The aim: to preserve the qualities of the Brazilian Sativa while bringing in the earlier ripening of the K.C. lines, so that growing outdoors succeeds even in temperate zones. According to the manufacturer, growing indoors is possible, but the strain shows its full potential outside. KC Brains does not state an Indica-Sativa ratio in per cent, a THC value or a CBD value. The seeds of this item are feminised and photoperiod; indoors, flowering therefore only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. If you want to select or make your own crosses, you will also find the same strain as Bahia Black Head Regular.

Who Is Bahia Black Head For?

Bahia Black Head is above all an outdoor strain. It suits:

• Outdoor gardeners with room for plants of 2.5 m and more
• Growers in temperate zones, for whom KC Brains developed the strain
• Sativa lovers looking for Brazilian genetics
• Anyone who values pest- and mould-resistant plants – that is how the manufacturer describes them
• Growers for whom an inconspicuous smell in early flowering is important

It is less suitable if you need reliable key data: the manufacturer's figures on height, flowering time and harvest date contradict each other, and information on THC and effect is missing. You can find more outdoor strains under outdoor seeds.

Growing Bahia Black Head: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

For indoors, KC Brains gives two different sets of figures. In one place it says the plants stay petite and do not grow taller than 80 cm; flowering there takes 8 to 10 weeks, and elsewhere 8 weeks. The data sheet, by contrast, states about 10 weeks of flowering and a height of 140 cm. The manufacturer does not give a yield per area in g/m²; according to the description, the branches carry plenty of medium-sized flowers. The description also recommends an intervention at the third or fourth node to increase flower production – presumably meaning topping the main shoot. You will find the basics on training in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

Outdoors, according to KC Brains, Bahia Black Head shows its full potential. In one place the manufacturer speaks of strong, pest- and mould-resistant bushes 2.5 m tall that are ripe as early as mid to late August and yield 850 g per plant. The data sheet, by contrast, states a height of 350 cm and a harvest at the end of October. Which figure is correct cannot be determined from the strain description; in any case, expect a very large plant and judge ripeness by the trichomes. A sunny spot with plenty of root space helps. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Bahia Black Head

On the aroma, KC Brains makes an unusual statement: in early flowering, Bahia Black Head has no particular smell. Only towards the end does it become somewhat sharper and develop an earthy hash flavour, which the manufacturer describes as lovely. It does not name individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. The strain description contains no information on the effect, nor a THC or CBD value – so we deliberately do not add any estimates. All that is certain is its classification as a Sativa-dominant hybrid with Brazilian roots. With a strain without any potency information, it is particularly worthwhile to start with a small amount and wait. How the effect turns out depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.

Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
