Genetics & Origin of Big Devil Fast Version
Big Devil Fast Version is Sweet Seeds' answer to the wish for a Big Devil without the automatic flowering. According to the breeder, the starting point was the best selected lines of Big Devil Auto. To remove the autoflowering trait, they were crossed with an elite clone that is very similar to the original Big Devil Auto in several characteristics; Sweet Seeds does not name this clone. The result is a feminised, photoperiod strain with a shortened flowering time that only flowers after the switch to 12/12. The breeder states 65% Sativa and 35% Indica, plus 15 to 25% THC and 1.5% CBD. It describes a very vigorous plant with an imposing structure, a strong main stem and long side branches. From the breeder's Fast Version series, you can also find Sweet Cheese Fast Version in our shop.
Who Is Big Devil Fast Version For?
Big Devil Fast Version is a strain for yield and speed. It suits:
- Growers aiming for high yields with a short flowering time
- Fans of Big Devil Auto who prefer to grow photoperiod plants and control the vegetative phase themselves
- SOG and SCROG growers who want to make use of strong side branching
- Outdoor gardeners with a warm, sunny spot and room for large plants
- Lovers of sweet incense and citrus aromas
The vigorous strain with its long side branches is less suitable for very low grow rooms. You can find more strains for the grow room under indoor seeds.
Growing Big Devil Fast Version: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
As a photoperiod strain, Big Devil Fast Version only starts flowering after the switch to 12/12. There are two manufacturer figures for the flowering time – around 7½ weeks and 8 to 9 weeks; to be on the safe side, plan with the longer value and judge ripeness by the trichomes. Sweet Seeds states an indoor yield of 500 to 650 g/m². The plants develop a strong main stem and long side branches and are described as very vigorous; so keep the vegetative phase rather short. Thanks to the strong side branching, the strain is suitable for SOG and SCROG. The dense, resin-covered flowers need good air movement towards the end. You can read more about training methods in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For growing outdoors, Sweet Seeds describes a large structure that comes into its own best in warm, sunny locations. The breeder does not state a harvest date, and there is no verified figure for the yield per plant for the Fast Version. Expect sprawling plants, give them sufficient spacing and support the long side branches as soon as the flowers become heavy. More strains for open ground: outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Big Devil Fast Version
According to Sweet Seeds, the Fast Version retains the flavour and aroma of the original Big Devil Auto: very sweet, combined with hints of incense. The breeder adds fruity and spicy-lemony notes and sums up the flavour as citrus on sweet Haze; elsewhere it also mentions Skunk. The manufacturer does not name individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. The effect is described as relaxing, at the same time clear and pleasantly activating – a powerful but balanced hybrid high. Sweet Seeds itself uses the keywords creative and psychoactive. According to the breeder, the THC content is between 15 and 25%; the range is therefore wide. How intense the effect is also depends on dose and personal tolerance.
