Blackwater 6 seeds
Blackwater Seeds – Purple Kush by The Cali Connection
What is Blackwater? Blackwater by The Cali Connection is a feminised, photoperiod and predominantly Indica-leaning hybrid of Mendo Purps × Tahoe OG S1. Indoors it flowers for 8 to 9 weeks, grows compact and bushy and forms large, dense flowers with deep purple tones; the manufacturer calls the yield high, without figures. An earthy-sweet, slightly grapey Kush aroma and a heavy, physically relaxing effect are typical. In 2014 the strain took 3rd place as best Indica at the High Times Medical Cup in Los Angeles. It suits Kush fans who want to switch off in the evening – in the US Genetics category. Available in a pack of 6 seeds.

Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Blackwater
The Cali Connection carries Blackwater in two versions, which differ in the second parent. The feminised version offered here is Mendo Purps × Tahoe OG S1; in the regular version, the breeder crosses Mendo Purps with SFV OG Kush IBL. The manufacturer explains the Tahoe OG component with “even more terpene power”. Blackwater is an Indica/Sativa hybrid with a predominant Indica share; exact percentages are missing, as is information on THC and CBD. As special features, the manufacturer names deep colours, large, compact flowers and a heavy Kush aroma. At the High Times Medical Cup 2014 in Los Angeles, it came third in the Best Indica category. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. SFV OG Kush, which the regular version goes back to, is also available from the same breeder as a strain in its own right: SFV OG Kush by The Cali Connection.
Who Is Blackwater For?
Blackwater is a strain for lovers of dark Kush genetics. It suits:
- Kush fans who like an earthy-sweet aroma with a grape note
- Growers who appreciate purple-coloured flowers
- Indoor growers who plan with 8 to 9 weeks of flowering
- Growers who prefer compact, bushy plants with stable side shoots
- Consumers looking for a heavy, body-focused effect in the evening
Blackwater is less suitable if you need fixed figures for THC and yield before buying – the manufacturer quantifies neither – or are looking for a stimulating daytime strain. You can find more Indica-leaning strains under Indica strains.
Growing Blackwater: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For Blackwater, The Cali Connection gives 8 to 9 weeks of flowering indoors, counted from the switch to 12/12. The plants grow compact and bushy and form stable side shoots. The breeder describes the yield as high, with large, dense flowers; it does not state a figure in g/m² or a height. For the colour it gives a tip: with cool night temperatures, the blaze of colour shows particularly clearly. With bushy growth, it is worth thinning out the inside of the plant a little so that air reaches the dense flowers; a carbon filter keeps the heavy Kush smell in the room. You can read more about climate and plant care in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For growing outdoors, The Cali Connection supplies no data of its own: neither harvest time nor height or yield per plant is given. The only point of reference left is the indoor flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks; a fixed harvest month cannot be reliably derived from it. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot and make sure the dense flowers are well ventilated in autumn. Cool nights can intensify the purple tones outside too. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Blackwater
The manufacturer describes the scent of Blackwater as earthy and sweet, slightly grapey, with a Kush undertone. For the flavour, it names fruity-spicy notes and a heavy, sweetish finish – a highly recognisable profile in which the Kush side dominates. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The Cali Connection clearly assigns the effect to the Indica side: strongly relaxing physically, heavy and calming, plus a slightly psychedelic touch. The breeder recommends Blackwater for the evening and for moments when you want to relax deeply and leave everything behind you. The strain description does not give a THC value, which is why we refrain from classifying the potency in figures. How strong the effect is depends on dose and tolerance.
