Genetics & Origin of Blue Mystic
Blue Mystic is the feminised Blueberry version from Royal Queen Seeds. The strain description traces the line back to the breeder scene in California and Oregon in the 1980s, where Thai Sativas were crossed with Afghan Indicas; accordingly, the genetics are given as a Blueberry selection from Thai × Afghan. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid – the description does not state a percentage ratio. The THC content is about 18%, and it gives the CBD content as “medium”. The compact, bushy growth, almost reminiscent of a bonsai, is characteristic. The seeds are photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the switch to 12/12. For comparison, you will find Blueberry by Dutch Passion in our range; with Royal Skywalker, Royal Queen Seeds also offers a cross of Blueberry and Mazar.
Who Is Blue Mystic For?
Blue Mystic brings the Blueberry aroma into a compact format. It suits:
- Growers with limited space who need low, bushy plants
- Indoor growers who grow in SOG or work with topping
- Lovers of sweet berry aromas and the Blueberry line
- Outdoor gardeners in warm, Mediterranean regions
- Consumers looking for a strongly body-focused effect in the evening
It is less suitable for anyone who wants to stay active during the day or expects top yields – at 375 to 425 g/m² it is in the mid-range. You can find larger packs under Bulk Seeds.
Growing Blue Mystic: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow room, Blue Mystic grows 60 to 100 cm tall and flowers for 8 to 10 weeks; the yield is given as 375 to 425 g/m². Because it gains little height, the strain description recommends it particularly for SOG setups. It responds well to topping. A specific tip from the manufacturer: a vegetative phase extended by about one week brings more side shoots and noticeably more yield. The bushy growth needs enough air movement inside the plant so that the flowers stay dry. For the full aroma, the description advises drying the harvest slowly and only trimming afterwards. You will find the basics on climate, training and drying in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the strain presents a different picture: there it reaches 180 to 220 cm and yields 400 to 450 g per plant. In the northern hemisphere, harvest falls at the beginning of October. According to the description, Blue Mystic needs a warm climate, with Mediterranean regions preferred. In cooler areas, a greenhouse or a very sheltered, sunny spot is the better choice. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Blue Mystic
Blue Mystic smells sweet and berry-like with fresh fruit notes; the strain description compares the flavour to a sweet, intense fruit juice. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. By its account, the aroma unfolds best when the flowers are dried slowly before trimming. The effect is distinctly body-focused: relaxing to sleep-inducing, with an intense stone. The strain is therefore recommended for the evening hours or for deep relaxation. The THC content is given as about 18%, the CBD content as “medium” – an exact figure is missing. The description recommends it above all to lovers of the Blueberry line who have little space in the grow room. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
