Genetics & Origin of Bohemian Highway
Bohemian Highway is named after a legendary back road in the west of Sonoma County, where, according to the breeder, its Kush line originated: OCC Kush, a Kush from Occidental that came about by chance. It goes back to an SFV OG Kush that was pollinated by unknown pollen. Lucky Dog describes this mother as a perfect lemon-lime plant with a pronounced pinene character that is positively drenched in trichomes. The second parent is Chemdog 91 Bx3; the breeder identifies the seeds as original Chemdog genetics. It does not state an Indica/Sativa ratio or values for THC or CBD. The seeds are regular and photoperiod: male and female plants grow from the 13 seeds in a pack. An SFV OG Kush is available in our range as a strain in its own right from The Cali Connection.
Who Is Bohemian Highway For?
Bohemian Highway is classic breeder's seed stock. It suits:
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from 13 regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who start their own crosses with male plants
- Fans of OG Kush and Chemdog lines
- Growers with enough room height for a strain that stretches considerably
- Enthusiasts who are attracted by the mother's lemon-lime note
If you want only female plants without any selection work or expect fixed figures for yield and THC, a feminised, more thoroughly documented strain is the better choice. You can find more lines from the USA under US Genetics.
Growing Bohemian Highway: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Lucky Dog gives the flowering time as 56 to 63 days, i.e. eight to nine weeks after the switch to 12/12. The breeder announces quite a lot of stretch: so do not send the plants into flowering too tall and allow for some headroom; topping or a net help to tame the height. Because these are regular seeds, it is best to germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep, determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants unless pollination is wanted. The breeder does not state figures for height and yield. You will find the basics on selection and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Bohemian Highway is intended for growing indoors and outdoors, but Lucky Dog gives no details of its own for open ground: neither harvest date nor height nor yield per plant. Because of the strong stretch, the strain needs space outdoors and a sunny spot sheltered from the wind. You should spot male plants early in the garden too. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Bohemian Highway
The breeder only comments on the aroma via the mother: a lemon-lime plant with plenty of pinene. How strongly these notes or the Chemdog parent come through can differ from plant to plant – with regular seeds, several phenotypes are to be expected. Lucky Dog does not state a lab terpene profile. The breeder briefly describes the effect as a narcotic but balanced high. It does not give a THC value, and we deliberately do not add an estimate. If you are selecting, you should therefore assess each plant individually and feel your way carefully with new phenotypes. How the effect turns out in each case depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.
