Genetics & Origin of Bubba Island Kush
Bubba Island Kush is the special Kush addition to the Dutch Passion range and goes back to North American genetics. The breeder combined a line of Grandaddy Purple × OG Kush with a Pre-'98 Bubba Kush. Dutch Passion describes the result as a fast Indica with first-class potency; the breeder does not state percentages for the Indica share, THC or CBD; a THC content of 22% is stated. The appearance is striking: the leaves can turn dark during flowering, which according to the manufacturer gives the plant the look of a hash plant, and the buds become extremely resinous. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the switch to 12/12. You will find two of the lines involved in our range as strains in their own right from other breeders: Bubba Kush by Barney's Farm and Granddaddy Purple by Royal Queen Seeds.

Growing Bubba Island Kush: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For Bubba Island Kush, Dutch Passion states a flowering time of 7.5 weeks from the switch to 12/12 and an average height of one metre indoors. This keeps the strain easily manageable in the grow room. The breeder does not give a yield in g/m²; instead it emphasises the quality: dense, compact, frosty buds in a short time. Because of the compact flowers, good air movement and controlled humidity are important in the final weeks. The leaves can turn dark during flowering – according to the manufacturer, that is part of the strain's typical appearance. If you want to make concentrates, time the harvest according to the ripeness of the trichomes. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Dutch Passion gives no information on harvest date, height or yield per plant outdoors. Without information from the manufacturer, we therefore do not name a harvest month. Choose a sunny, airy spot so that the dense flowers dry off quickly after rain, and judge ripeness by the trichomes. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Bubba Island Kush
According to Dutch Passion, Bubba Island Kush has an earthy Kush aroma in which, however, sour and fruity notes dominate. The breeder speaks of a unique terpene profile that makes the strain interesting for hashish, BHO, wax and shatter; it does not list individual terpenes. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. The buds are frosty, dense and compact. Dutch Passion describes the high as relaxing, satisfying and deeply pleasant. The breeder calls the potency first-class without stating a THC value; 22% THC is stated for the strain. In concentrates, the active-ingredient content is considerably higher than in the flower. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
