CBD Charlotte's Angel 3 seeds

Genetics & Origin of CBD Charlotte's Angel

CBD Charlotte's Angel was the first strain with a low THC content in the Dutch Passion catalogue. The genetics come from Dutch Charlotte, a CBD-rich clone that was crossed with Red Angel – likewise pure CBD genetics, which originates as a clone from Amsterdam. The result is Sativa-dominant; the breeder does not state percentages. According to Dutch Passion, the CBD content averages 10 to 16%, the data sheet states 15%, and according to the manufacturer individual phenotypes reach 20 to 25%. The THC content always stays below 1%. The strain has won three awards: 1st place in the CBD category at the Highlife Cannabis Cup 2018, 2nd place at the CBD Rich Cup in Spain 2019 and 3rd place at Expogrow Irun 2019. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. Another strain from the breeder is CBD Kush.

Who Is CBD Charlotte's Angel For?

CBD Charlotte's Angel is aimed at everyone who would like to grow cannabis without intoxication. It suits:

• Consumers who value aroma and ritual but do not want a high
• Growers specifically looking for CBD-rich flowers with under 1% THC
• Makers of concentrates – the breeder calls the strain suitable for this
• Indoor growers with enough room height and patience for 9 to 12 weeks of flowering
• ScrOG growers who want to turn the strong stretch into yield

It is less suitable for growing outdoors in a temperate climate and for anyone who expects an intoxicating effect. You can find more strains of this kind under CBD seeds.

Growing CBD Charlotte's Angel: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

Dutch Passion gives the flowering time as 9 to 12 weeks on average; the data sheet states 11 weeks. According to the breeder, fast phenotypes are finished after as little as 8 to 9 weeks, while the slowest need one to two weeks longer. The plant grows tall: in flowering it stretches by about 150 to 300% according to the manufacturer, over a period of four to five weeks. So send it into flower early or work with a net. The breeder states around 400 to 450 g/m² as the yield, and over 500 g/m² with SCROG. It does not give a height in centimetres. You will find more on training and climate in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

According to Dutch Passion, the strain is intended for open ground only to a limited extent: because of the long flowering time, the breeder considers it not very suitable for a temperate climate; it sees it above all in indoor cultivation and, outdoors, in tropical and subtropical locations. The breeder does not state a harvest month, the height outdoors or a yield per plant. In Central Europe, indoor cultivation is therefore the obvious choice. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Effect, Aroma & Flavour of CBD Charlotte's Angel

Dutch Passion describes a herbal aroma with resinous diesel undertones, plus notes of citrus and pine; according to the breeder, individual phenotypes turn out earthier, with blueberry and spice. It calls the terpene profile strong and distinctive, but does not list individual terpenes. The effect is the decisive point: according to the manufacturer, CBD Charlotte's Angel is not psychoactive. With always under 1% THC and an average of 10 to 16% CBD, there is no high; instead, the breeder describes a distinct physical and calming effect. Flavour and smoking sensation are said to match those of a THC-rich strain – intended for everyone who would like to enjoy a joint without getting stoned. How you perceive the effect depends on dose and tolerance.
