Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of CBD Kush
CBD Kush is a joint project: Dutch Passion developed the strain together with the CBD Crew. The starting point was a THC-rich selection of Kandy Kush, which was crossed with a CBD-dominant line. According to the manufacturer, the result is a CBD-rich strain with a THC:CBD ratio of approximately 1:1; in tests, up to 8% CBD was measured alongside a similar amount of THC. Genetically, CBD Kush is a mix of Indica and Sativa, but according to Dutch Passion it generally shows an Indica-dominant appearance in its growth. The breeder does not state a percentage ratio. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. Another Kush strain with CBD in its name is CBD-OG Kush by the CBD Crew.
Who Is CBD Kush For?
CBD Kush is aimed at everyone for whom a balanced cannabinoid ratio is more important than a high THC value. It suits:
- Consumers looking for a THC:CBD ratio of about 1:1
- Growers who prefer a plant around 100 cm in height
- Indoor growers who plan for around 9 weeks of flowering
- Fans of earthy Kush aromas
- Consumers who appreciate an easily controllable high
If you need a THC-free strain, this is the wrong place: according to the manufacturer, CBD Kush contains a similar amount of THC to CBD. You can find strains with a different ratio under CBD seeds.
Growing CBD Kush: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Dutch Passion describes CBD Kush as a plant with mostly Indica-dominant growth that generally grows around 100 cm tall and delivers good yields – the manufacturer does not state a figure in g/m². The flowering time is given as 9 weeks. At this height, the strain also fits into smaller grow rooms. If the cannabinoid ratio matters to you, it is worth determining the harvest time carefully by the trichomes and treating all plants as equally as possible. The manufacturer deliberately speaks of "approximately" 1:1; only a laboratory analysis gives certainty about your own flowers. You will find the basics of growing in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
In the shop, CBD Kush is classified for indoor growing, and Dutch Passion gives no information on open ground in the strain description. For growing outside, harvest is given as around the beginning of October. We cannot state a yield per plant. A sunny, sheltered spot is the best prerequisite for this rather low strain too. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of CBD Kush
Dutch Passion comments only briefly on the aroma and speaks of a satisfying flavour; an earthy Kush note is also given. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It is clearer when it comes to the effect: CBD Kush is said to deliver a strong physical stone and at the same time a pleasant, easily controllable high. Behind this is a cannabinoid profile with about as much THC as CBD – up to 8% CBD was measured with a similar THC content. So the strain is not THC-free, and a psychoactive effect is to be expected. How intense it is depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
