Genetics & Origin of CBD SkunkHaze
CBD SkunkHaze is the result of a joint project between Dutch Passion and the CBD Crew. The aim was a THC to CBD ratio of 1:1; the breeder gives 7.5% THC and 7.5% CBD. The starting point was the Haze/Skunk from Dutch Passion, which according to the breeder won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1992. It was carefully crossed with a variety very rich in CBD, whose name Dutch Passion does not give. The outcome is a Sativa/Indica cross in a 50/50 ratio that grows into tall plants and forms large buds that are not too dense. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. Another CBD strain from the breeder in our range is CBD Kush.
Who Is CBD SkunkHaze For?
CBD SkunkHaze is aimed at anyone looking for THC and CBD in balance. It suits:
- Consumers who prefer a softer high than with THC-rich strains
- Growers who specifically want to grow a 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD
- Indoor gardeners with enough headroom for tall plants
- Greenhouse gardeners who can plan for around 10 weeks of flowering
- Lovers of cedarwood, citrus and mint aromas
It is less suitable for low grow rooms and for anyone expecting the strongest possible THC high. You can find more balanced and CBD-rich strains under CBD seeds.
Growing CBD SkunkHaze: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Dutch Passion gives the flowering time as about 10 weeks; with this photoperiod strain it begins after the switch to 12/12. Under ideal conditions, up to 450 g/m² are possible according to the breeder. The plants grow tall – Dutch Passion does not give a figure in centimetres – so plan for enough headroom or keep them flatter with topping, tying down or a net. The buds become large but not too dense; clean air management nevertheless remains important throughout the long flowering time. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
The breeder writes that CBD SkunkHaze grows well indoors and also in the greenhouse. Dutch Passion gives no information on growing outdoors in open ground – harvest date, height or yield per plant. With around 10 weeks of flowering, the strain ripens late; a greenhouse or a warm, sheltered spot is therefore the safe choice. Plan for room upwards here too, because the plants grow tall. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of CBD SkunkHaze
According to Dutch Passion, aroma and flavour go in a spicy cedarwood direction, accompanied by citrus, pine and mint tones. The breeder does not state a lab terpene profile. What defines the effect is the cannabinoid ratio: 7.5% THC is matched by 7.5% CBD. Dutch Passion writes that recreational consumers experience high CBD levels as a very pleasant, soft high – a relaxing, unadulterated cannabis effect without the intensity of some THC-rich strains. This makes CBD SkunkHaze milder than THC-rich strains, but it remains a strain with a noticeable THC content. How intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
