Genetics & Origin of Citrus Slurp
For Citrus Slurp, Original Sensible Seeds has brought two lines together: Orange Cookies and Watermelon. The result is a balanced hybrid with 50% Sativa and 50% Indica, which the breeder gives as having up to 32% THC. The manufacturer does not state a CBD content. According to Original Sensible Seeds, two expressions appear: plants whose scent is reminiscent of ripe watermelon, and those with a distinct lemon note. As special features, the breeder cites a dense coating of resin and an intense citrus scent. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod; flowering therefore only sets in after the switch to 12/12. You will find a line of the same name from another breeder in our range in the form of Watermelon by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Citrus Slurp For?
Citrus Slurp is a strain of big numbers – in potency as in yield. It suits:
- Consumers with a high tolerance who know very strong strains
- Growers who appreciate citrus and watermelon aromas
- Yield-focused indoor gardeners with sufficient height in the room
- Outdoor growers with space for plants up to 180 cm
- Selectors who would like to choose between the watermelon and the lemon type
It is less suitable for anyone who consumes rarely or is looking for a mild strain: 32% THC does not forgive generous dosing. You can find more high-yielding strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Citrus Slurp: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Original Sensible Seeds, Citrus Slurp flowers for 55 to 65 days and grows 90 to 140 cm tall. The breeder states a yield of up to 850 g/m². At this plant height it is worth tying the shoots down early or stretching a net so that an even canopy forms. The manufacturer highlights the dense coating of resin and the intense citrus scent – a powerful carbon filter is therefore part of the basic equipment. Good air movement keeps the heavy flowers dry in the final weeks. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Citrus Slurp reaches 120 to 180 cm and, according to the manufacturer, is ready for harvest in early to mid October. Original Sensible Seeds states up to 1,500 g per plant and describes the strain as very resilient with large colas. For yields like these, the plant needs a spot in full sun, plenty of root space and sturdy supports for the main shoots. In locations with a wet autumn, rain protection makes sense. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Citrus Slurp
Orange peel, sweet grapefruit and candied watermelon: this is how Original Sensible Seeds describes the aroma, while the flavour is said to be tropical, juicy and sweet-citrusy. The breeder names myrcene as the dominant terpene, along with terpinolene and limonene. It portrays the effect as a clear, euphoric head high that promotes focus and creativity without overstimulating, and relaxes without making you sleepy. It recommends the strain for sociable get-togethers and productive hours. At up to 32% THC, however, that only applies to small amounts – a higher dose can be too much even with a high tolerance. How intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
