Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Critical Jack
Critical Jack brings together two well-known lines: Critical + and Jack Herer. Silent Seeds calls the strain a worthy heir to these parents and highlights high productivity, genetic stability and vigour – qualities that, according to the breeder, it has been proving for many years. The genotype is given as 40% Indica and 60% Sativa, the THC content as 15 to 20% and the CBD content as 0.01 to 0.2%. Added to this, according to the manufacturer, is great resilience: growers from all over the world are said to have achieved very good results in different climate zones. Silent Seeds also lists three first places at competitions, two of them in the Outdoor Sativa category. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. If you would like to grow one of the parent strains on its own, you will find Jack Herer by Sensi Seeds in our range.
Who Is Critical Jack For?
Critical Jack is a vigorous, resilient and Sativa-leaning hybrid with a high yield. It suits:
- Sativa fans looking for an energising, head-focused effect
- Outdoor growers with space for plants 3 m tall
- Yield-focused indoor growers planning for 60 days of flowering
- Lovers of Haze aromas with cedar, incense and citrus
- Extraction fans – in 2015 the strain won a first place for shatter
It is less suitable for small, inconspicuous gardens: outdoors, the manufacturer states a height of 3 m. You can find more strains for open ground under outdoor seeds.
Growing Critical Jack: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Silent Seeds gives a flowering time of 60 days, i.e. a good eight and a half weeks after the switch to 12/12. The manufacturer states a yield of 625 g/m². It does not put a figure on the height for the grow room. As it expressly describes the strain as vigorous, it makes sense not to choose too long a vegetative phase and to keep the shoots flat with topping or a net. At this yield level, the flower clusters need support and good air movement. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Critical Jack shows its full stature: Silent Seeds states a height of 3 m and 1,200 g per plant, elsewhere even at least 1,200 g. Depending on which manufacturer figure you go by, harvest falls in late September to early or mid October. According to the breeder, the strain is very resilient and has delivered good results in different climate zones. Plan for sufficient spacing, a spot in full sun and sturdy supports. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Critical Jack
Silent Seeds gives two descriptions of the flavour: the data sheet says sweet and fruity, while elsewhere the manufacturer describes a Haze profile – spicy and floral, with cedar, incense, pine, spices and a fresh citrus note. The breeder does not name individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as long-lasting and energising, more cerebral than physical and slightly psychedelic. That fits a hybrid with 60% Sativa. According to the manufacturer, the THC content is 15 to 20% and the CBD content 0.01 to 0.2%. How intensely you experience the effect depends on dose and individual tolerance.
