Genetics & Origin of Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version
Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version (SWS73) is a fast-flowering, light-dependent strain that Sweet Seeds counts among the tastiest in its own catalogue. For it, the breeder crossed its Crystal Candy (SWS58) with a selected line of Sweet Special Auto (SWS35). Despite the autoflowering parent, the result remains photoperiod: the hybrid only flowers after the switch to 12/12, but then in just 6 to 7 weeks. Sweet Seeds states 60% Indica and 40% Sativa, 15 to 21% THC and around 0.1% CBD. The award the manufacturer mentions – 1st prize as best Indica at the Spannabis Champions Cup 2017 – belongs to the original Crystal Candy, not to this Fast Version. You will also find the original strain Crystal Candy and the autoflowering Auto Crystal Candy in our range.
Who Is Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version For?
Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version is the choice when sweetness and speed count. It suits:
- Growers who want to harvest after 6 to 7 weeks of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners who would like to be finished before the autumn rain
- Lovers of sweet aromas of strawberry chewing gum and fruit gums
- Extract enthusiasts who process resinous flowers
- Consumers looking for a predominantly relaxing effect
If you prefer a stimulating Sativa high or tart, spicy aromas, this sweet, Indica-leaning hybrid is less of a fit. You can find more strains of this type under Indica strains.
Growing Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Sweet Seeds states a flowering time of 6 to 7 weeks and a yield of 450 to 600 g/m². The manufacturer gives no details on plant height. The strain forms large flowers with a dense layer of long trichomes; the aromatic resin coats the flowers and the surrounding leaves. This amount of resin is also interesting for extracts: according to the breeder, extracts of very good quality and pleasant aroma can be obtained from the flowers. Good air movement and controlled humidity protect the flowers in the short final phase, and a carbon filter catches the sweet smell. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the data sheet, Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version is ready for harvest from late August to early September and delivers 400 to 650 g per plant. The early date is its greatest advantage: harvest comes before the damp, cool weeks of autumn. Sweet Seeds does not state an outdoor height. A sunny spot and supports put in place in good time are enough by way of preparation. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Crystal Candy F1 Fast Version
Sweet Seeds describes the aroma as distinctive and exquisitely sweet: it is reminiscent of strawberry chewing gum or a sweet shop – the quality for which the original Crystal Candy was already prized. In addition, the manufacturer lists fruity notes, melon and fruit gums. It speaks of fruity, sugary terpenes but does not list any individual terpenes or a lab profile. Sweet Seeds portrays the effect as predominantly relaxing, combined with a pleasant body feeling. With a 60% Indica share and 15 to 21% THC, the strain lends itself more to quiet hours. The CBD content is around 0.1%. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
