Genetics & Origin of Delicious Cookies Early Version
By its own account, Delicious Seeds worked on this polyhybrid for more than three years. The basis is formed by four genetics from the USA – Girl Scout Cookies, Wedding Cake, 707 Headband and Death Star – which the breeder combined with Ruderalis genetics. The data sheet shows 50% Sativa, 40% Indica and 10% Ruderalis. Despite the Ruderalis share, the Early Version is not an autoflower: it is listed as a feminised, photoperiod strain and flowers after the light cycle is switched. Delicious Seeds gives the THC content as 26%. As further characteristics, the breeder cites very strong trichome production and an almost perfect leaf-to-calyx ratio. You will find two of the original strains from other breeders in our range: Girl Scout Cookies by Barney's Farm and Wedding Cake by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Delicious Cookies Early Version For?
The Early Version is aimed at everyone for whom speed and resin matter. It suits:
- Growers who want to harvest particularly quickly with 45 days of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners in regions with a short summer – harvest is in early September
- Extract fans: the manufacturer states a BHO return of 21%
- Lovers of Cookies aromas with tea and earth notes
- Consumers who are used to very potent strains
The medium-sized to tall plant is less suitable for very low grow rooms, and if you prefer mild strains, 26% THC is the wrong choice. You can find more strong strains under Super High THC Content.
Growing Delicious Cookies Early Version: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
The most striking feature is the speed: Delicious Seeds states a flowering time of just 45 days. This is counted from the switch to 12/12, because the strain is photoperiod. Because of its Sativa component, the plant grows medium-sized to tall; the breeder does not give a figure in centimetres. It gives the indoor yield as 600 g/m². According to the manufacturer, the almost perfect leaf-to-calyx ratio makes harvesting and manicuring easier. In addition, the data sheet states a high tolerance when it comes to watering as well as high resistance to mould and pests. You will find the basics on light, climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to Delicious Seeds, the Early Version is ready for harvest as early as the beginning of September. The breeder states more than 1,500 g per plant – a very high figure that presupposes plenty of root space, sun and a long vegetative phase. The high resistance to mould and pests is a benefit when growing outside. Plan supports for the side shoots. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Delicious Cookies Early Version
For the flavour, Delicious Seeds cites Earl Grey tea, biscuits and earthy nuances. The breeder speaks of a complex aroma profile with a "Made in USA" flavour and rates the aroma intensity as high. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The resin formation is striking: according to the description, the trichomes cover almost the entire plant. On the effect, the data sheet contains only one word, namely euphoric; the breeder does not go into more detail on it. The THC content is given as 26%, while elsewhere Delicious Seeds speaks of more than 25%. This makes the strain one of the very strong ones – start with small amounts. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
