Genetics & Origin of Double Funk LTD
Double Funk LTD is a hybrid from Karma Genetics. As the mother, the breeder selected a phenotype of Sour Dosidos by Dank Genetics, which in turn derives from Dosidos × Sour Dubb; it was pollinated with a Headbanger male. Karma Genetics describes the result as a predominantly gassy, sour, Indica-dominant hybrid with a few OGKB accents. The breeder states neither a ratio in per cent nor values for THC and CBD. The plants stay medium-tall and deliver medium to high yields. The seeds are regular and photoperiod: the pack of 12 produces male and female plants – the basis for selection and breeding work of your own. Another regular line from the breeder is Biker Kush Regular.
Who Is Double Funk LTD For?
Double Funk LTD is a strain for lovers of strong gas and sour aromas. It suits:
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from twelve regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who use male plants for their own crosses
- Fans of Dosidos and Sour lines
- Growers who can plan for 10 to 11 weeks of flowering
- Fans of Karma Genetics looking for another regular line from the breeder
If you want to harvest quickly, you are better served by a strain with a shorter flowering time. You can find more lines with male and female plants under regular seeds.
Growing Double Funk LTD: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Karma Genetics gives the flowering time as 10 to 11 weeks – that is longer than with many modern hybrids and needs to be planned for. The breeder describes the plants as medium-tall and the yield as medium to high; it does not state figures in centimetres or g/m². Because of the gassy, sour smell, a powerful carbon filter makes sense, and in the long final phase good air movement protects the flowers. As these are regular seeds, you germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep and determine the sex in pre-flowering; male plants are removed unless pollination is wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
The breeder lists Double Funk LTD for indoors and outdoors. It does not state a harvest date, a height or a yield per plant for open ground. Because of the long flowering time of 10 to 11 weeks, the strain ripens late outside; a warm spot with a dry autumn or a greenhouse is therefore the safe choice. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Double Funk LTD
Karma Genetics describes the profile of Double Funk LTD as predominantly gassy and sour, complemented by a few OGKB accents. The breeder does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the smoke overall as strong and “stoney”; the breeder does not describe the effect in more detail. Because it expressly emphasises the strength, cautious dosing makes sense. Karma Genetics does not give a THC value – so we deliberately do not add an estimate. With regular seeds you should also expect differences between individual plants. How the effect turns out in each case depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.
