Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Ed Rosenthal Super Gas
Ed Rosenthal Super Gas comes from the US breeder Humboldt Seed Company. The manufacturer gives the lineage as All Gas OG, which also goes by the name Asphalt Plant, × Ed Rosenthal Super Bud. The brief data sheet reveals nothing more about the origin: Humboldt Seed Company gives no further details on the parent lines, and we deliberately add nothing here. The type is designated as Indica; a percentage is missing. The manufacturer puts the average THC content at 25% and does not state a CBD value. The strain is photoperiod and comes as regular seed: the seeds grow into male and female plants, which makes it interesting for selection and your own breeding projects. From the same breeder we stock Ed Rosenthal's Super High Life and, likewise regular, Notorious THC Regular.
Who Is Ed Rosenthal Super Gas For?
Ed Rosenthal Super Gas is a potent Indica for growers who like to select. It suits:
- Indica lovers looking for a strain with an average of 25% THC
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who use male plants for their own crosses
- Fans of American genetics from Humboldt Seed Company
- Outdoor gardeners in locations with a long, dry autumn
If you have to harvest outdoors as early as September, you are less well served by this strain, because the manufacturer states 5 to 20 October. You can find more American lines under US Genetics.
Growing Ed Rosenthal Super Gas: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Humboldt Seed Company gives the flowering time as 65 days, i.e. a good nine weeks from the switch to 12/12. The manufacturer states no further growing data: height, stretch and yield in g/m² are not quantified. In the shop the strain is classified as tall-growing (over 110 cm indoors) – that is only an approximation, but it is better to plan for a little headroom. As regular seeds produce male and female plants, it is best to germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep and determine the sex in pre-flowering; males are removed if pollination is not wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For open ground, the manufacturer states a harvest window from 5 to 20 October. That extends beyond the middle of the month: the strain therefore needs a long autumn that is as dry as possible, or rain protection. In the shop the outdoor height is classified as 161 to 220 cm, which is likewise to be understood only as an approximation. Humboldt Seed Company does not give a yield per plant. You can find more strains for outdoors under regular outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Ed Rosenthal Super Gas
The manufacturer itself gives no information on the aroma. It is given as sweet, with notes of diesel, honey and maple syrup. Humboldt Seed Company does not name individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. The manufacturer does not describe the effect either; only the classification as Indica and the average THC content of 25%, a high value, are certain. We therefore deliberately do not add a description of the effect based on our own assumptions. With regular seeds you should also expect differences between individual plants, including in aroma. Because of the potency, feel your way with small amounts: how intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
