Erdbeer BX2 Regular 5 seeds

The male plant used comes from a selection of over 80 EEP plants and impressed with its classic strawberry structure, intense colour, high resin production and short flowering time. This male was crossed again with the original Strawberry, which has been preserved in Switzerland for around 30 years.

The result is an extremely Afghan-dominant strain – stocky, compact and uncompromisingly old school.

The Purpurea influence has almost disappeared. Only about one in 20 plants still shows slight Sativa characteristics.

Growth & structure

Strawberry BX2 grows more compact than almost any other strain:

The yield is rather moderate indoors, as the plant grows very compactly and takes a long time to build up sufficient mass in the vegetative stage.

The Erdbeer Bx2 regular is the result of our backcrossing process to bring back the legendary Erdbeer in its original form.
The male for this cubing process came from a selection of over 80 EEP plants; the male had the structure, colour, strength and flowering time of an Erdbeer. This male has now been crossed with the original Erdbeer, which has existed in Switzerland for around 30 years.
The Erdbeer BX2 plants from these seeds grow stockier than any other variety we know. The Afghan influence is now so obvious, the large leaves are fleshy, dark green with a purple colour influence. The internodes are so dense that when the plant grows, it becomes almost wider than it is tall.
The flowers grow extremely densely and, when dried, are real nuggets. The resin content is enormous and spreads to the large leaves. The scent is seductive, like a belly dancer who wants to seduce you. Indoors, the yield is moderate because it grows so compactly and takes far too long to reach an appealing size in the vegetative stage. The flowering time is typical for Afghan, not very long, approx. 50 days. The resin is very suitable for making hash and rosin, reminiscent of the hash our fathers and uncles sometimes talk about. The Purpurea influence has practically disappeared in this strain, with only about one in 20 plants still showing a Sativa influence. The seed coat is very thick, so they take a little longer to germinate. This is not a plant for beginners, but rather for connoisseurs who know what they are dealing with. It is very forgiving when it comes to fertiliser, as it reacts very slowly to it. We have to say it again, we have never seen such an Afghan-dominated variety before; for us, it is a revival of a Cannabis Indica Afghanica from the 1970s. We hope you enjoy this variety!

Origin of Erdbeer – Three theories

There are several versions circulating about the origin of the legendary Strawberry:

1. Owl's Seeds theory

Breeder Felix (known for Purpurea Ticinensis, Heaven, Granflora, Owl's Skunk) is said to have bred it. Since it only existed as a clone and feminisation was still unknown at the time, it was never officially released as a seed.

2. Canntech Yverdon (CannaSwissCup 2001)

An elderly gentleman from German-speaking Switzerland brought cuttings that initially ended up in the rubbish. Their intense smell led to their ‘rescue’ – a few months later, the variety won the CannaSwissCup.

3. University of Zurich Theory

At the end of the 1990s, potent cannabis crosses are said to have been created as part of public projects, which found their way into the scene via detours. Whether Strawberry is one of them is not proven.
