Genetics & Origin of Erdpurt
Erdpurt is a classic Afghani line which, according to Ace Seeds, originated in Northern Europe and was selected there for its quality, its fast flowering and its adaptation to harsh, northern climates. The breeder gives the genetics as Erdbeer × Purpuera Ticinensis and the ratio as 100% Indica. The data sheet lists 12 to 16% THC, 0 to 2% CBD and up to 0.3% CBG. At the same time, Ace Seeds describes how the population – as is usual with traditional hashish plants – produces chemotypes with different THC and CBD proportions: balanced THC/CBD types are said to be the most common, with occasional THC-rich or CBD-rich individual plants. You should therefore not count on a fixed CBD content. The seeds are feminised. Kali China also comes from the Ace Seeds catalogue.
Who Is Erdpurt For?
Erdpurt was selected for cool, harsh locations. It suits:
- Outdoor growers in northern or high-altitude regions up to 55° latitude
- Gardeners who would like to harvest as early as August or early September
- Lovers of classic hashish aromas of coffee, earth and pine
- Those interested in breeding – according to the manufacturer, the line produces fast-flowering, cold- and wind-resistant crosses
- Consumers who prefer a relaxing Indica effect of medium strength
It is less suitable for anyone expecting maximum yields or a precisely predictable THC and CBD content. You can find more pure Indica lines under 100% Indica.
Growing Erdpurt: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Ace Seeds states an indoor flowering time of 7 weeks for Erdpurt. The structure is typically Afghani: strong, robust and compact, with large leaves, thick stems and columnar growth with almost no branching. For best results, the breeder recommends a long vegetative phase of at least two months before flowering, pruning if you want more branched plants, and moderate amounts of nutrients throughout the entire cycle. Mother plants should be kept under 20/4 hours of light and not in pots that are too small. The manufacturer gives the yield as average, without a figure in g/m². You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
The strain shows its strength outdoors. According to Ace Seeds, it can be grown up to 55° latitude, withstands several days of frost and strong wind, and ripens in August to early September – even where cold, wind and rain prevent most Afghani indoor strains from ripening properly. The breeder rates its cold resistance as high and its resistance to powdery mildew, botrytis, spider mites and heat as average. Below 45° latitude, individual plants can show semi-autoflowering traits, especially in small pots. The manufacturer does not state a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Erdpurt
For the green phenotypes, Ace Seeds names roasted coffee, pine, moss, damp earth, hashish and freshly mown grass; for the colourful phenotypes, fruitier notes of blackberry and strawberry. The breeder describes the terpene profile as complex: among the monoterpenes mainly alpha-pinene, trans-ocimene and d-limonene, with varying proportions of myrcene, beta-pinene and linalool; among the sesquiterpenes mainly beta-caryophyllene, followed by cis-nerolidol and alpha-humulene. It gives the effect as relaxing and creative, an Indica effect of medium strength. The data sheet states 12 to 16% THC and 0 to 2% CBD, while elsewhere the manufacturer describes mostly balanced THC/CBD chemotypes. How intense the effect is depends on chemotype, dose and individual tolerance.
