Genetics & Origin of Euforia
Euforia comes from a Skunk breeding project that Dutch Passion carried out in 1996. According to the breeder, a whole Skunk family emerged from it, which besides Euforia also includes Skunk #1, Skunk #11, Skunk Passion and Orange Bud. Euforia stood out early on for its high yields and proved to be a dependably strong, stable line. Because it is easy to clone, it was also used by many other breeders, according to Dutch Passion. The strain was awarded 1st place at the Highlife Cup 2002 and 2nd place at the HTCC 2000. The measured THC values are around 18%. The breeder does not put a figure on the Indica/Sativa proportion; in the shop it is rated as mostly Sativa. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. You can find a Skunk #1 from another breeder's line, for example, as Skunk #1 by Barney's Farm.
Who Is Euforia For?
Euforia is a high-yielding Skunk with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Skunk fans looking for a selection from the 1990s
- Indoor growers who want to harvest after seven to eight weeks of flowering
- Gardeners who keep mother plants and take cuttings
- Greenhouse owners who can cultivate into late autumn
- Consumers who like a euphoric, carefree high
If you grow in open ground without rain protection, you should bear in mind the late ripening from late October to early November – Euforia is less suitable for that. You can find more proven strains under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Euforia: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Dutch Passion recommends a flowering time of seven weeks and advises harvesting after eight weeks at the latest, so that the quality of the high is preserved. The plants grow 1 to 1.5 metres tall; the breeder states a yield of 400 to 600 g/m². The ratio of flowers to leaves is roughly 50:50, so trimming involves a little more work. According to the manufacturer, cuttings develop into vigorous, uniform plants – useful for keeping a mother plant and building up an even crop. With a Skunk strain, a carbon filter makes sense. You will find the basics of growing in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
According to Dutch Passion, Dutch outdoor growers reported that Euforia produces excellent flowers in abundant quantity in good summers. Under natural light, however, it only ripens from late October to early November; the breeder also names the greenhouse as an excellent place for growing. In cool, damp locations, rain protection makes sense in the final weeks. The manufacturer does not give a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Euforia
Euforia smells fresh and, according to Dutch Passion, tastes very skunky but not particularly sweet. The breeder does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is what gives the strain its name: according to the manufacturer, consumers immediately notice a particularly euphoric high that puts them in a relaxed, carefree and happy state. To preserve this character, Dutch Passion recommends harvesting no later than after eight weeks of flowering. THC values of about 18% were measured for Euforia; the breeder describes it as extremely potent. In the Dutch Passion team, by its own account, it is one of the personal favourites of some members. How strongly you feel the effect depends on dose and individual tolerance.
