Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Gorilla Cookies
Gorilla Cookies is inspired by the West Coast of the USA and combines two well-known lines: Gorilla Glue #4, which Original Sensible Seeds calls its strongest resin producer, and the Cookie strain Do-Si-Dos OG. The outcome is an Indica-dominant hybrid with 70% Indica and 30% Sativa. The breeder gives the THC content as 28%; by its account, the strain competes in potency with Bruce Banner #3, the company's flagship. The manufacturer does not state a CBD value. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the switch to 12/12. The same breeder also offers the parent strain Do-Si-Dos OG individually, as well as a Bruce Banner 3 The Incredible Hulk.
Who Is Gorilla Cookies For?
Gorilla Cookies is a strain where resin and potency take centre stage. It suits:
- Lovers of Glue and Cookie genetics from the US West Coast
- Growers who want to harvest after 60 to 65 days of flowering
- Indoor growers with enough headroom for 100 to 160 cm
- Outdoor gardeners who would like to harvest in early October
- Consumers with a high tolerance looking for a strain very high in THC
It is less suitable if you are looking for a mild strain for now and then – 28% THC is a great deal. You can find more Indica-leaning strains under Indica strains.
Growing Gorilla Cookies: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Original Sensible Seeds gives the flowering time as 60 to 65 days. Indoors, according to the manufacturer, the plants grow 100 to 160 cm tall – so allow some headroom or keep them flat with topping and a net. On yield, the figures are not consistent: the data sheet states 600 g/m², while elsewhere the breeder speaks of around 700 g/m². The compact, very resinous flowers need plenty of air movement in the final weeks, and a carbon filter keeps the smell in check. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Gorilla Cookies reaches 130 to 180 cm and is ready for harvest in early October. Here too there are two yield figures: the data sheet states 700 g per plant, while the breeder speaks of more than 1 kg per plant under ideal growing conditions. To be on the safe side, reckon with the lower value. A sunny, sheltered spot and supports put in place in good time help to bring the heavy flowers safely through to harvest. More strains for outdoors are listed under feminised outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Gorilla Cookies
There are two descriptions of the aroma from the breeder: fruity, spicy notes with a hint of zesty citrus-lime and – elsewhere – creamy cookie dough with a light sweetness, plus pine, wood and a little diesel. The terpene details are not consistent either: Original Sensible Seeds names limonene throughout, and alongside it once myrcene as the dominant terpene and once caryophyllene and pinene. The manufacturer describes the effect as well balanced. It begins with an immediate euphoric rush and then moves over into the relaxing Indica side. At 28% THC, Gorilla Cookies is among the very strong strains – dose carefully, because the intensity depends on the amount and your personal tolerance.
