Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Gorilla
Gorilla is one of the strains that 00 Seeds, in its own words, particularly values – above all because of its high THC content. The data sheet states 25%, while elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of 25 to 30%. 00 Seeds says nothing about the lineage; the cross is given as Chem Sister × Sour Dubb × Chocolate Diesel, and the strain is considered Indica-dominant. The manufacturer does not state an exact Indica share or a CBD value. According to 00 Seeds, super-resinous, sticky flowers are characteristic. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. From the same manufacturer there is also the variant Gorilla Fast; a Gorilla strain from another house is Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Gorilla For?
Gorilla is a strain for everyone to whom potency and resin matter. It suits:
- Indoor growers who want to harvest after 60 to 65 days of flowering
- Growers with room for plants 90 to 120 cm tall in the tent
- Outdoor gardeners with plenty of space – outdoors, 250 to 300 cm is reached
- Lovers of very resinous, sticky flowers
- Consumers who are used to high-THC strains
Because of its height of up to three metres outdoors, the strain is less suitable for small gardens and low greenhouses. You can find more strains along these lines under Indica strains.
Growing Gorilla: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to 00 Seeds, Gorilla flowers for 60 to 65 days, i.e. around nine weeks from the switch to 12/12. The plants grow 90 to 120 cm tall, and the manufacturer gives the yield as 550 to 600 g/m². Because the flowers turn out very resinous and sticky, clean scissors and gloves make harvesting easier. Keep humidity low in the final weeks and ensure air movement within the crop; a carbon filter makes sense with resinous strains anyway. You will find the basics on climate and harvest time in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Gorilla grows considerably taller: 00 Seeds states a height of 250 to 300 cm and a harvest in early October. The manufacturer does not give an outdoor yield; up to around 1,000 g per plant is stated. Plants of this size need a lot of root space, a spot in full sun and sturdy supports for the heavy shoots. You can find more strains for open ground under outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Gorilla
00 Seeds describes the flavour as earthy, with a hint of pine and lemon. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as euphoric, happy and cerebral – so it plays out mainly in the head. Added to this is the high potency: the data sheet shows 25% THC, while elsewhere 00 Seeds states 25 to 30%. The manufacturer does not give a CBD value. With values like these, a small amount is often enough; if you have little tolerance, feel your way forward slowly. The super-resinous flowers also make themselves felt when you grind them – they stick. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
