Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Haze Special
By its own account, Haze Special is at the very top of KC Brains' list. The manufacturer describes it as a stable, predominantly Sativa-influenced cross of Nevil's Haze and K.C. 606 that has taken on the best qualities of both parents. It does not state percentages for Sativa and Indica. KC Brains gives the THC content as 20% and the CBD content merely as lower, without a figure. The plants grow in a typical Sativa manner: tall and slender, with narrow, light green leaves. As an award, the breeder cites the overall victory in 2001 at a Dutch competition in Dordrecht, which it calls the "Dorset Weedcup". The seeds are feminised and photoperiod; flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. With Neville's Haze from Green House Seeds, you will find a Haze line of a similar name from another breeder in our range.
Who Is Haze Special For?
Haze Special is a Sativa for growers who bring height and time in reserve. It suits:
- Haze lovers looking for the typical Haze flavour
- Consumers who prefer a clear, energetic effect
- Indoor growers with enough room height for 125 to 150 cm
- Outdoor gardeners with space for plants up to 2.5 m tall
- Growers who time the harvest by the ripeness of the flowers rather than by a fixed date
It is less suitable if you need a short flowering time that can be planned with certainty – the manufacturer's figures diverge widely here. You can find more potent strains under Super High THC Content.
Growing Haze Special: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
KC Brains calls Haze Special ideal for indoor growing. According to the manufacturer, the plants stay small: in one place it says they do not grow taller than 130 cm, while the data sheet states 125 to 150 cm. There are two figures for the flowering time: the data sheet states 6 to 9 weeks, while elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of 12 to 14 weeks and calls this the shortest flowering time among the well-known Sativas. Plan with a margin and go by the trichomes. There are also two figures for the indoor yield – up to 160 g in the data sheet and up to 350 g elsewhere – neither of them related to the square metre; KC Brains does not give a figure in g/m². You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Haze Special performs strongly and grows 225 to 250 cm tall. Harvest can begin at the end of September. KC Brains gives differing information on how long it lasts: the data sheet states mid-October, while elsewhere November is mentioned. The breeder states a yield of up to 800 g per plant. A late harvest requires a dry, sunny autumn; support tall plants in good time. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Haze Special
KC Brains simply describes the flavour of Haze Special as a special Haze flavour; the manufacturer does not name individual aroma notes or a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as clear-headed and energetic. It attributes this to the ratio of cannabinoids: the strain has a lower CBD and a higher THC content, which it puts at 20%. KC Brains does not give a CBD value in figures. If you have little experience with Sativas of this strength, it is better to start with a small amount. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
