Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Honduras
Honduras is a pure Sativa landrace from the lush, tropical regions of the country of the same name. Ace Seeds offers it as a second generation (P2). The breeder is reminded of the old Mexican Sativas and at the same time recognises traits of Colombian lowland strains. The manufacturer gives the THC content as a moderate 8 to 13%, plus under 0.05% CBD and 0.3% CBG. The plants grow tall and flexible, branch heavily and form medium to long internodes. As regular seed, Honduras produces male and female plants; Ace Seeds expressly recommends the landrace as starting material for vigorous, high-yielding Sativa hybrids. The strain is photoperiod, so flowering depends on day length. According to the manufacturer, it is known for high yield and resistance to adverse weather. Panama Regular is also from Ace Seeds and available as regular seed.
Who Is Honduras For?
Honduras appeals to lovers of original Sativas. It suits:
- Collectors of pure landraces
- Breeders who select male and female plants for Sativa hybrids
- Outdoor gardeners in a tropical, subtropical or Mediterranean climate
- Indoor gardeners with plenty of space, strong light and time for 13 to 14 weeks of flowering
- Consumers looking for moderate THC values and a clear, stimulating effect
It is less suitable for regions with a short summer and for anyone who wants to harvest quickly: outdoors it only ripens in mid-November. You can find more original lines under regular Classics and Landraces.
Growing Honduras: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow room, Honduras flowers for 13 to 14 weeks. Ace Seeds considers indoor growing possible provided the light intensity is high and there is plenty of room to grow. For flowering, the breeder recommends 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness and advises initiating it as early as 15 days after sowing or 7 days after cuttings have rooted. Feeding during growth is done with low NPK values; from the third week of flowering, the PK doses rise gradually. Ace Seeds calls the yield very high, without a figure in g/m². Because the seeds are regular, you determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants if pollination is not wanted. You can read more about this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the landrace feels at home in a warm, humid climate – ideally in tropical and subtropical regions or under Mediterranean conditions. Ace Seeds gives mid-November as the harvest time. The breeder attests to high resistance to botrytis and heat, medium-high ratings for powdery mildew, whitefly and cold, and average resistance to spider mites. It does not put a figure on yield per plant or final height. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Honduras
Ace Seeds describes the bouquet of Honduras as a complex blend of floral, lemony, woody and spicy notes: a natural, tropical aroma in which the citrus freshness balances the woody undertones. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The breeder characterises the high as clean, energetic and positive – stimulating and suited to socialising, creative work or outdoor activities, ideal for the daytime. Mood, energy and concentration are said to benefit from it. At the same time, Ace Seeds points out that the stimulating effect is not suitable for everyone. The THC content is 8 to 13%, CBD under 0.05%. With regular landraces, individual plants turn out differently; the intensity also depends on dose and tolerance.
