Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Humboldt Headband
Humboldt Headband is the interpretation of a well-known West Coast cross by Humboldt Seed Company from Northern California: Humboldt OG × Headband. Both parents stand for the OG-Diesel direction with a strong lemon and fuel aroma. The name Headband alludes to the effect – a feeling of pressure around the head, as if you were wearing a headband. The strain is a balanced hybrid with 18 to 22% THC, feminised and photoperiod. As special features, the breeder cites the robust, compact structure and a very high mould resistance that makes it interesting for growing outdoors. Humboldt Headband is also a parent of another strain from the same house: the particularly resinous Bigfoot Glue goes back to a cross with Humboldt Headband.
Who Is Humboldt Headband For?
Humboldt Headband is robust and compact. It suits:
- Fans of OG and Diesel aromas with a strong lemon note
- Outdoor growers looking for a very mould-resistant strain
- Growers with small rooms who prefer compact plants
- Gardeners who want to grow discreetly
- Consumers looking for a strong head high for quiet evenings
According to the manufacturer, the strain is not suitable for situations that call for full concentration. You can find more potent strains under Super High THC Content.
Growing Humboldt Headband: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Humboldt Headband grows robust, compact and resilient. Flowering time is around 60 days, and the breeder rates the yield as high. Because of the compact structure, Humboldt Seed Company expressly recommends the strain for smaller rooms and discreet growing. The dense buds benefit from good air movement in late flowering; topping or light tying down can additionally widen the canopy. The lemon-diesel aroma is intense, so a carbon filter makes sense. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Humboldt Headband plays to its greatest strength: the breeder describes it as very mould-resistant. Harvest falls between 1 and 15 October, and the yield is given as high. Thanks to its compact growth, the plant remains easy to manage outside too – an advantage for locations where being inconspicuous counts. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Humboldt Headband
Humboldt Headband is an aromatic package of citrus and OG-Diesel: for aroma, the breeder lists lemon, diesel and sweet undertones; for flavour, a lemony freshness with a spicy diesel finish. Humboldt Seed Company gives limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene as the defining terpenes. The effect is a classic Headband effect: intense and full of pressure in the head, yet euphoric and pleasantly relaxed in the body. The manufacturer recommends the strain for quiet evenings or creative moments without deadline pressure – it is, the manufacturer says, not one for multitasking. With 18 to 22% THC it is strong; the intensity depends on dose and tolerance.
