ICE 100 seeds
ICE Seeds – Resinous Indica by Royal Queen Seeds
What is ICE? ICE (Indica Crystal Extreme) by Royal Queen Seeds is a feminised, photoperiod and Indica-dominant hybrid of Afghan × Northern Lights × Skunk. It flowers for 8 to 10 weeks, grows 80 to 120 cm tall indoors and, according to the strain description, yields 400 to 450 g/m² with around 18% THC. Flowers densely covered in trichomes, a skunky-spicy, hashy aroma and a strongly physical, sedating effect are typical. Because of its high resin output, it is in demand above all for hash making. We list ICE as a strain for experienced growers – in the Indica strains category. Available in packs of 3, 5, 10, 25 and 100 seeds.

Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of ICE
The name ICE stands for Indica Crystal Extreme and describes what this strain is all about: resin. For it, Royal Queen Seeds combined three classic lines – Afghan, Northern Lights and Skunk. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid whose exact proportions the strain description does not quantify. The THC content is around 18%, and the CBD content is low. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod; flowering only begins when you switch the light cycle to 12/12. Its special feature is considered to be the enormous resin production, which makes ICE interesting for hash and extracts. At the same time, the strain description openly concedes that ICE is not the highest-yielding strain in the Royal Queen Seeds catalogue. You will also find one of the three starting lines individually in our range, for example as Northern Lights by Vision Seeds.
Who Is ICE For?
ICE is a compact Indica with a focus on resin. It suits:
- Experienced growers who grow specifically for hash, dry sift or rosin
- Growers with smaller rooms or a Sea of Green set-up
- Outdoor gardeners in warm, sunny locations
- Lovers of classic, hashy Indica aromas
- Experienced consumers looking for a heavy, physical effect in the evening
We do not recommend ICE for a first grow, and if you expect maximum quantities of flowers, you will find higher-yielding strains. The strain description calls growing it easy; we nevertheless rate ICE as a strain for experienced growers. You can find more proven lines under Classics and Landraces.
Growing ICE: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, ICE grows 80 to 120 cm tall and flowers for 8 to 10 weeks. The strain description states 400 to 450 g/m² as the yield. The compact growth makes the strain suitable for smaller rooms and for the Sea of Green, in which many small plants stand close together. Because the flowers are densely covered in trichomes, it is worth making sure of good air movement and humidity that is not too high in the final weeks; a carbon filter helps against the skunky smell. If you want to make hash, base the harvest time on the trichomes. You will find the basics on climate and harvest in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, ICE reaches 150 to 200 cm and is ready for harvest in the northern hemisphere from late September to early October. The strain description states 500 to 550 g per plant. The strain is most at home in a warm, sunny climate – Spain or California are named as optimal. In cooler regions you should therefore choose the sunniest and most sheltered spot. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of ICE
According to the strain description, ICE smells skunky-spicy with a note of sweet earth; the flavour is heavy, hashy and slightly sweet. The description speaks of a classic Indica terpene profile that is particularly suited to extracts but does not list any individual terpenes – the manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is described as strongly physical, relaxing and sedating, all the way to couch-lock. This makes ICE a strain for the evening; the description recommends it particularly to experienced users. As flower too, and not only as an extract, it accordingly delivers a rich physical effect. The THC content is around 18%, and the CBD content is low. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
