Genetics & Origin of Jack 47 - Fast Version
The Fast Version is the non-automatic fast version of Jack 47, a classic from the Sweet Seeds catalogue. For this F1 hybrid, a selected line of Jack 47 Auto was crossed with an elite clone of the original. The cross shortens the flowering time by around one week, according to the strain description without any loss of aroma, potency or yield. Despite the auto parent, the strain is photoperiod: it does not flower by itself but only after the switch to 12/12. The ratio is 75% Sativa to 25% Indica, and the seeds are feminised. The potency is described as very high, but the strain description does not state a THC value in per cent. If you have more time, you will also find the original Jack 47 by Sweet Seeds in our range.
Who Is Jack 47 - Fast Version For?
The Fast Version combines Sativa character with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Experienced growers looking for a Sativa with just 7 to 8 weeks of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners who want to harvest as early as mid-September
- Fans of Jack 47 for whom the original takes too long
- Lovers of citrus, floral and incense notes
- Experienced consumers who appreciate a clear, energetic effect
We do not recommend it for a first grow; we rate it as a strain for experienced growers. If you want to switch off in the evening, an Indica is the better choice. You can find other fast strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Jack 47 - Fast Version: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, the Fast Version flowers for just 7 to 8 weeks; the strain description gives the yield as 500 to 600 g/m². Sweet Seeds describes exceptionally vigorous growth and rapid development, and at the same time a compact powerhouse with dense, resinous flowers. A height in centimetres is not given. With a vigorous, Sativa-dominant plant, it is worth topping the shoots early or tying them down so that the canopy stays even. The dense flowers need good air movement towards the end, and the strong aroma makes an activated carbon filter sensible. There is more on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the strain description, the Fast Version is ready for harvest as early as mid-September – early enough to get ahead of the wet autumn in many regions. The yield is described as very high, but a figure per plant is missing, as is a height figure. A heavy resin coating and suitability for sunny locations are mentioned. So give the plants the brightest spot and support heavy shoots in good time. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Jack 47 - Fast Version
The strain description calls the scent fresh and sweet with floral and citrus notes; in the flavour, incense, lemon and flowers come together. Sweet Seeds speaks of a complex terpene profile but does not list any individual terpenes – the manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is described as clear, energetic, creative and long-lasting; it therefore fits into the daytime rather than the late evening. The potency is considered very high, and the description expressly recommends the strain to experienced consumers. A THC value in per cent is not given, so we do not add a figure. Start with small amounts: how intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
