Genetics & Origin of Karibbean Mango
Kannabia presents Karibbean Mango as a combination of Mango Skunk and Black Domina; the breeder attributes the long, thick and very dense flowers to the Black Domina influence. The data sheet, however, gives the lineage as Somango × Afghan – the manufacturer does not explain how the two statements fit together. What is consistent is the strong Indica character of 90%. Kannabia gives the THC content as 18.5% in the data sheet and as 18% elsewhere, and the CBD content as under 0.5%. According to the manufacturer, the strain was awarded third place as Best Indica at the Copa Cannábica Axarquía in 2013. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so they only flower after the switch to 12/12. The Black Domina line is available as regular seed under Black Domina Regular by Sensi Seeds.
Who Is Karibbean Mango For?
Karibbean Mango combines a fruit aroma with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Lovers of sweet mango aromas with a Skunk note
- Indoor growers who want to harvest after 60 to 65 days of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners with plenty of space, because around 3 m is possible outdoors
- Growers in regions with a short autumn who would like to harvest at the end of September
- Consumers looking for a relaxing Indica effect in the evening
It is less suitable for small, inconspicuous spots outdoors and for anyone looking for a stimulating daytime strain. You can find similar strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Karibbean Mango: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Kannabia gives the flowering time of Karibbean Mango as 60 to 65 days, counted from the switch to 12/12. The data sheet states 480 g/m², while elsewhere the breeder speaks of 500 g/m². It does not list a height for indoor growing. The flowers become long, thick and very dense. Kannabia advises always having fertiliser to hand – according to the breeder, regular feeding brings the best result. With such an aromatic strain, a powerful carbon filter makes sense; good air movement protects the compact flowers. You will find the basics on feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to Kannabia, Karibbean Mango can grow around 3 m tall. Harvest is at the end of September. The data sheet gives the yield as 550 g per plant, while elsewhere the breeder states 600 g. Kannabia describes the strain as resistant to pests and fungi. At this size the plant needs plenty of root space and sturdy supports. If you need larger quantities of seed, you will find more bulk packs under Bulk Seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Karibbean Mango
Karibbean Mango smells tropically sweet: Kannabia names mango, citrus and resinous herbs, and in the flavour fruity, slightly sour notes with cypress, ripe mango and Skunk. Overall, the breeder describes the strain as very aromatic. The data sheet does not list the names of individual terpenes. The manufacturer describes the effect as predominantly relaxing, and in the data sheet as balanced: a slightly euphoric onset is followed by a relaxing to sedating, at times strongly physical feeling. Kannabia sees the strain in the evening, in creative breaks and on quiet weekends. With around 18% THC and under 0.5% CBD it is strong. How intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
