Genetics & Origin of Lemon Mochi
The starting point of Lemon Mochi is LemonTini, a cross of Lemon Tree × Karma Sour D BX. Karma Genetics describes it as the clear winner among the strains it was released with: full of sharp citrus terpenes and with a distinct gas note. From this line the breeder has developed a whole collection of hybrids. Lemon Mochi comes from Mochi × LemonTini and, according to Karma Genetics, is a gassy, fruity hybrid for connoisseurs. The breeder does not state an Indica or Sativa proportion as a percentage, but it does speak of plump Indica flowers. THC and CBD values are missing as well. The strain is photoperiod and comes as regular seed, from which male and female plants grow. A strain with a related name from the same breeder is Sour Lemon Mochi Regular.
Who Is Lemon Mochi For?
Lemon Mochi is regular seed and is rated in the shop for experienced growers. It suits:
- Experienced growers who work with regular seeds
- Selectors who choose a mother plant with purple colouring from 12 seeds
- Hobby breeders who use male plants for their own crosses
- Lovers of lemon and Gelato aromas with a berry and gas note
- Consumers with a high tolerance looking for a strong, narcotic high
The strain is less suitable for a first grow, and if you want exclusively female plants, feminised seeds are the better choice.
Growing Lemon Mochi: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Karma Genetics gives the flowering time as 9 to 10 weeks and the yield as medium to high. The breeder describes the plants as productive and easy to care for, with good, vigorous branching and beautiful purple colouring; it does not state a height. By its account, experienced growers can let the plants grow a little longer to achieve the best result. Because the seeds are regular, you germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep, determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants unless pollination is wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
In the shop, Lemon Mochi is classed for indoors and outdoors. Karma Genetics does not state a harvest date, a height or a yield per plant for open ground. With 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, you need a spot with a sunny, dry autumn or a greenhouse. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Lemon Mochi
According to Karma Genetics, Lemon Mochi delivers lemon-dominated Gelato aromas with a hint of berries, packed into plump Indica flowers; overall, the breeder describes the strain as gassy and fruity. By its account, the parent line LemonTini is bursting with sharp citrus terpenes and gas notes. It does not state individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. As for the effect, Lemon Mochi is said to be very potent and to have a strong, narcotic high – the breeder also regards LemonTini as a very strong strain. Karma Genetics does not give a THC value; we deliberately do not add an estimate. With regular seeds, individual plants can differ in aroma and strength. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and tolerance.
