It flowers for 50 to 56 days, grows compactly and, according to the manufacturer, delivers good yields; it describes the THC content as high without stating a figure. The sweet lemon scent and a euphoric, relaxing effect are typical. Thanks to its high calyx-to-leaf ratio, the multi-award-winning strain is quick to harvest and suits citrus lovers with little space – in the Classics and Landraces category. Available in packs of 5 and 10 seeds.

Genetics & Origin of Lemon Skunk
Lemon Skunk by DNA Genetics is a cross of two Skunk strains in which a phenotype with characteristic lemon traits was deliberately selected. According to the breeder, the Lemon mother plant has been cultivated in Las Vegas for over 20 years, and the father was selected in the Netherlands. According to DNA Genetics, the male clone was contributed by “Eddie”, the former owner of one of the oldest and most respected Dutch seed banks; this award-winning clone has been used in many breeding projects over the years. The ratio is 50% Indica and 50% Sativa, and the manufacturer describes the THC content only as “high”. The strain has won several awards, including as one of the Top 10 Strains of the Year 2009 from High Times. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. For comparison, we also stock Lemon Skunk by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Lemon Skunk For?
Lemon Skunk is a classic for everyone who likes citrus aromas. It suits:

- Growers with small rooms who need compact plants
- Indoor growers who would like to harvest after 50 to 56 days of flowering
- Anyone who wants to lose little time when trimming

Growing Lemon Skunk: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
DNA Genetics states a flowering time of 50 to 56 days; according to the breeder, the sweet, lemony scent comes into its own best in this window. The plants grow compactly, with light green leaves and thick orange pistils, and according to the manufacturer are well suited to small rooms. The high ratio of calyxes to leaves makes harvesting simple and efficient. The manufacturer describes the yield as good or medium to high; figures in g/m² and height details are missing. As a photoperiod strain, Lemon Skunk only flowers after the switch to 12/12. An activated carbon filter is generally advisable with highly aromatic strains. Among the awards there is also one in the Indoor Hydro category (Spannabis 2008). More on climate and air extraction in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For growing outdoors, DNA Genetics gives no details of its own on harvest date, height or yield per plant. By our classification, Lemon Skunk is one of the early-ripening strains, with harvest by the end of September. The awards also include the Outdoor Highlife Cup 2007. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Lemon Skunk
According to DNA Genetics, Lemon Skunk is considered one of the tastiest and sweetest strains. The flowers develop a pleasant, sweet, lemony scent, and according to the manufacturer the strain is valued for its intense flavour and its high potency. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The breeder sums up the effects in three terms: euphoric, relaxing and mood-lifting. With 50% each of Indica and Sativa, the genetics are balanced. DNA Genetics does not give a THC value in per cent, only the rating “high”; so we do not add a figure. With a strain without a quantified THC content, feel your way forward with small amounts, because how intensely it acts depends on dose and individual tolerance.
