Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Lord Kush
Lord Kush emerged from a collaboration between Delicious Seeds and the musician DJ Lord of Public Enemy, with whom the breeder says it has had close ties for years. The in-house Unknown Kush was crossed with a line from the USA: Death Star × Headband, two strains which, according to the manufacturer, are well known there but were previously unknown in Europe. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid (“Mostly Indica”) with a medium structure and abundant branching. Delicious Seeds states 26% THC; the manufacturer does not state a CBD value or exact Indica-Sativa percentages. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins with the switch to 12/12. You can find more strains of American descent under US Genetics.
Who Is Lord Kush For?
Lord Kush is designed for high yields with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Growers who want to harvest as much as possible in 50 to 55 days of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners with room for plants up to 2.5 m tall
- Kush lovers who appreciate a multi-layered aroma
- Gardeners looking for a strain with high resistance to mould and pests
- Consumers with a high tolerance who prefer a very strong, heavy effect
It is less suitable for anyone looking for a light daytime strain: 26% THC and an effect described as narcotic speak against that. Strains with a similar focus are listed under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Lord Kush: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For indoor growing, Delicious Seeds states a flowering time of just 50 to 55 days and a yield of up to 700 g/m². The breeder counts Lord Kush among the strains with the highest gram-per-watt yield in its catalogue. The plants have a medium structure, branch abundantly and form a large, extremely dense main flower with long side flowers that are densely covered in trichomes. According to the manufacturer, the strain does not need much fertiliser to stay green and bear richly; so feed sparingly. It rates the watering tolerance and the resistance to mould and pests as high. With flowers this dense, good air movement and supports for heavy shoots nevertheless remain sensible. More on climate and feeding can be found in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Lord Kush grows up to 2.5 m tall. According to the breeder, harvest falls in late September, and the yield is more than 1,200 g per plant. Delicious Seeds also describes the strain as resistant to pests such as spider mites and thrips. Plan for sufficient space and a sunny spot, and tie up the heavy side branches early. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Lord Kush
Delicious Seeds describes the terpene composition of Lord Kush as complex: the aromas range from metallic notes, petrichor – the smell of rain on dry earth – and the typical Kush aroma to the sweet citrus fruits and red fruits of Californian strains. On the palate, according to the manufacturer, they combine into a blend that is hard to describe; as the flavour the breeder names fine wood, and it gives the aroma intensity as high. The breeder does not name individual terpenes, and the manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. On the effect, the breeder gives only one keyword: narcotic. Together with 26% THC, this points to a very strong strain for which a low starting dose is advisable. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
