Genetics & Origin of Loukoum
Loukoum is one of the last four strains that Perfect Tree Seeds bred with the reversal of its keeper cut of Jet-A. The mother is a specially selected cut of California Black Roze from Dying Breed Seeds; it was pollinated with the pollen of the reversed Jet-A, which the breeder describes as a cup winner. It does not say which award is meant. Perfect Tree lists the result as an Indica-dominant hybrid, without giving percentages. The flower structure is highlighted: beautifully stacked, dense flowers that are covered all over with glistening trichomes. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. The manufacturer does not state a THC or CBD value. You can find more hybrids of this kind under feminised seeds.
Who Is Loukoum For?
Loukoum is a strain for everyone for whom aroma comes first. It suits:
- Terpene lovers looking for floral rose notes
- Fans of gelato, gas and cream aromas
- Growers with enough headroom for a strong stretch
- Collectors who follow lines from Perfect Tree's Jet-A breeding work
- Consumers who prefer a relaxing effect
Loukoum is less suitable for very low tents or cabinets, because it grows tall and lanky. You can find more strains for the grow room under indoor seeds.
Growing Loukoum: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Perfect Tree gives the flowering time as 8 to 9 weeks. Loukoum's growth is striking: the plants become tall and lanky, stretch strongly and form huge colas. So do not switch to 12/12 too late, and keep the shoots at one height with a net, tying down or topping. Long shoots with heavy colas need support, for example from stakes or a second net. The breeder speaks of very high results but does not give a figure in g/m² – the yield, it says, depends on the grower's skill. It does not state a final height in centimetres either. You will find tips on training and height control in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Loukoum is listed for growing indoors and outdoors. For open ground, however, Perfect Tree gives no further details: harvest date, height and yield per plant are not stated. Because the strain grows tall and stretches strongly, you should plan for plenty of space outdoors and tie up the main shoots in good time. A sunny spot sheltered from the wind protects the large colas. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Loukoum
The aroma gave Loukoum its name – lokum, also known as Turkish delight. Perfect Tree describes a multi-layered profile full of floral notes: rose petals that mix with the deep gelato, gas and cream notes of the Jet-A line. Alongside these, the breeder lists jasmine and lychee as further notes, which reinforces the floral and fruity impression. It does not say which terpenes exactly are behind this; the manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. Perfect Tree sums up the effect briefly: relaxing, as you would expect from an Indica. More detailed information on its progression or strength is missing. The breeder does not state a THC value either, so we do not estimate anything here. Start with a small amount – how strong the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
