Malawi Regular – Pure Landrace Sativa by Ace Seeds
What is Malawi? Malawi by Ace Seeds is a regular, photoperiod landrace from Central Africa with 100% Sativa, derived from Old Killer Malawi × New Malawi Killer of the third generation. It flowers for 10 to 13 weeks indoors, branches heavily and, according to the breeder, delivers high yields with 20 to 25% THC. Concentrated aromas of oil, wood and lemon and a psychedelic effect lasting for hours are typical. Because of its long flowering time and late ripening outdoors, it is a strain for experienced growers – in the regular Sativa strains category. Available in a pack of 5 seeds.

Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Malawi
Malawi is a pure Sativa landrace from the country of the same name in Central Africa. Ace Seeds lists it as a P4 line, derived from Old Killer Malawi × New Malawi Killer of the third generation, and speaks of years of breeding work and intensive selection. The result is 100% Sativa with 20 to 25% THC and less than 1% CBD. The breeder describes the flowers as dense and resinous, with very large trichomes; it therefore also recommends the line for hashish and concentrates and as a breeding partner for resinous, high-yielding hybrids. The seed is regular: the seeds grow into male and female plants, which is what makes selection and crosses of your own possible in the first place. How Malawi performs in a hybrid is shown by Purple Haze x Malawi Regular from the same house.
Who Is Malawi For?
Malawi demands time, space and practice. It suits:
- Experienced growers who can plan for 10 to 13 weeks of flowering
- Sativa connoisseurs looking for a pure African landrace
- Breeders who select parents for their own hybrids from regular seeds
- SCROG growers who want to guide strong side branching into a net
- Hash and extract manufacturers who rely on high resin production
Malawi is not intended for a first grow or for inexperienced consumers: flowering and ripening take a long time, and the breeder recommends the effect only to experienced users. You can find more original lines under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Malawi: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Malawi flowers for 10 to 13 weeks. Ace Seeds describes medium internodal spacing and strong branching; the breeder does not state a height. According to the manufacturer, if you want small, columnar plants or a Sea of Green, you switch to 12/12 just a few days after rooting. The strain is particularly well suited to SCROG, horizontal nets and a pruned structure. For feeding, Ace Seeds recommends medium PK levels throughout the cycle and slightly less nitrogen. The breeder gives the yield as high, without a figure in g/m². You determine the sex in pre-flowering; you remove male plants unless you want to breed. Further basics are in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to Ace Seeds, Malawi ripens from late October to early November. It thrives best in tropical and subtropical climates; according to the manufacturer, it can be grown successfully up to the 43rd parallel. Germany, Austria and Switzerland lie north of that, so there a greenhouse or indoor growing is the realistic choice. The breeder rates the resistance to botrytis and heat as high and the cold tolerance as average to high. It does not state a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Malawi
Ace Seeds describes strong, concentrated aromas of oil, wood and lemon. Individual phenotypes additionally show sweet carrot or ripe mandarin notes. The breeder does not give a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as psychedelic, intense and cerebral, mentally stimulating and profound – lasting over four hours. It calls the potency extreme and expressly recommends Malawi only to experienced users; it also advises not combining the strain with alcohol and not operating machinery under its influence. The THC content is 20 to 25%. With regular seeds you should also expect differences between individual plants. How the effect turns out depends on phenotype, dose and individual tolerance.
