Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Midnight Sunset
For Midnight Sunset, Perfect Tree Seeds combined two lines. The mother was the in-house selection of a Sunset Sherbert Bx1 from Seed Junky Genetics, which according to the breeder comes very close to the original in appearance and smell. According to the breeder, it was pollinated with the in-house Jet A reversal; the seeds are feminised. The breeder describes the result as a potent, strongly Indica-dominant hybrid; it does not state a percentage, nor THC or CBD values. The plants grow medium to tall and show a striking play of colours: predominantly deep purple, intensely orange pistils and small green accents on individual calyxes. The strain is photoperiod. Further strains come from the same house, such as Mangozteen, which you will also find in our range.
Who Is Midnight Sunset For?
Midnight Sunset is an evening strain with a loud aroma. It suits:
- Lovers of strong fuel and gas aromas with a creamy side
- Growers who appreciate purple flowers with strong colour contrast
- Extraction fans – the breeder expressly recommends the strain for this
- Indoor growers who plan for topping and have enough height
- Consumers looking for a potent strain for the late evening
It is less suitable for the daytime and for very low rooms, because it stretches considerably. You can find more strains for the grow room under feminised indoor seeds.
Growing Midnight Sunset: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Perfect Tree, Midnight Sunset is ready to cut after about 8 weeks of flowering, counted from the switch to 12/12. The strain stretches vigorously; the breeder therefore advises topping it once or several times, depending on the length of the vegetative phase. It gives the size as medium to tall, without stating centimetres. Under good conditions, according to Perfect Tree, it generally delivers high yields; the breeder does not state a figure and points out that the result depends on the grower's skill. According to the breeder, the smell is exceptionally loud – a powerful carbon filter is therefore part of the basic equipment. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the breeder, Midnight Sunset ripens in October. Perfect Tree does not quantify height and yield per plant; because of the strong stretch, you should plan for plenty of space or top the plants early. Flowers that ripen into October need a sunny, airy spot and protection from continuous rain. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Midnight Sunset
According to Perfect Tree, strong fuel terpenes dominate the aroma; the creamy side of the Sunset Sherbert adds a softer note which, in the breeder's view, makes the strain special and pleasant. As flavours, it cites fuel, gas, cream and freshness. It does not give individual terpenes or a lab terpene profile. The name hints at it: Perfect Tree recommends Midnight Sunset for the night and describes the effect as intense, body-focused and relaxing – fitting before going to sleep. The breeder does not state a THC value; it only speaks of a potent strain. Because of the high yields and the loud smell, it also considers it a very good choice for extraction. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
