Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Mind Bender
Mind Bender comes from KC Brains in the Netherlands. The breeder speaks of an Indica-dominated cross and lists a double K.C. 2, a K.C. 33 and an Afghani-type line as parents. According to the manufacturer, the plants grow in a typical Indica fashion – fairly short and bushy, with broad, dark green leaves that sometimes turn red during flowering. Thorough selection is also meant to make the strain resistant to diseases. KC Brains does not state a THC or CBD value in per cent. This item contains regular, photoperiod seeds that produce male and female plants. If you only want female plants, you will also find the feminised Mind Bender from the same breeder in our range.
Who Is Mind Bender For?
Mind Bender is a bushy Indica line for indoors and outdoors. It suits:
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who need male plants for their own crosses
- Growers who grow in pots, soil or hydroponics
- Outdoor gardeners with room for plants 200 to 250 cm tall
- Consumers looking for a heavy, relaxing effect in the evening
The strain is less suitable if you need exact values or a fixed flowering date – the manufacturer's figures are broad here. You can find more regular-seed strains for open ground under regular outdoor seeds.
Growing Mind Bender: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For indoor growing, KC Brains states 6 to 10 weeks of flowering. The range is wide, so judge ripeness by the trichomes. The breeder gives the indoor height as 90 cm, and elsewhere as about 120 cm on average. According to the manufacturer, Mind Bender can be grown in pots and copes with soil as well as hydroponics. For the indoor yield, the breeder only gives gram figures without a reference area: up to 130 g, and elsewhere no less than 150 g. As the seeds are regular, you determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants, unless pollination is wanted. You will find the basics on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the fact sheet, Mind Bender grows 200 to 250 cm tall. Flowering takes 7 to 10 weeks outdoors, and harvest is from late September to mid-October. KC Brains states up to 750 g, and elsewhere up to 800 g per plant on average, and stresses: the better the climatic conditions, the higher the yield. A sunny, sheltered spot with enough space is therefore the foundation. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Mind Bender
During flowering and ripening, according to KC Brains, Mind Bender develops a very pleasant, slightly hashy aroma. The breeder describes the smoke as sweet and smooth. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as a heavy, rather sleepy high that relaxes body and mind; with moderate consumption the head is said to be unusually clear at first, with a couch-lock feeling setting in at the end. KC Brains calls the high very strong, but without a hangover or bad after-effects. The information on potency is contradictory – there is talk of crystals full of THC as well as of rather lower THC and higher CBD values – and percentages are missing. We therefore do not give any. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and individual tolerance.
