Genetics & Origin of Neon Sunshine
As presented by Exotic Genetix, Neon Sunshine combines two aroma worlds, the “dessert” and the “gas” category. The mother plant is the fruity-sweet Zkittlez. It was pollinated with pollen from a Falcon-9 (Reversal), which the breeder describes as potent and fuel-forward; feminised seeds are produced in this way. Exotic Genetix lists the strain as a hybrid and holds out the prospect of bright terpenes and the resin power for which the house is known. The breeder does not state a percentage ratio; the strain is considered Indica-dominant. Nor does it give values for THC and CBD. The plants are photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the switch to 12/12. You will also find a Zkittlez in our range; Project-9, for example, comes from the same breeder.
Who Is Neon Sunshine For?
Neon Sunshine is aimed at aroma lovers with an eye for resin. It suits:
- Growers looking for sweet fruit and gas in one strain
- Fans of Zkittlez genetics who appreciate their fruity sweetness
- Indoor growers who plan with around 60 days of flowering and medium-tall plants
- Extract lovers who value resinous flowers
- Collectors of US genetics from the house of Exotic Genetix
If you need reliable figures on THC content or yield before buying, you will not find them for this strain. You can find more feminised hybrids under feminised seeds.
Growing Neon Sunshine: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
The flowering time of Neon Sunshine is given as around 60 days; depending on the source, the range runs from 55 to 70 days. So plan for eight to ten weeks after the switch to 12/12 and decide by the trichomes. The growth is considered medium-tall; a height in centimetres is not stated. The yield is rated as high, but the breeder does not state a figure in g/m². Because Exotic Genetix emphasises the heavy resin production and gas aromas smell intense, a good activated carbon filter and sufficient air movement in the flowering room make sense. You will find the basics on climate and harvest time in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Neon Sunshine can also be grown outdoors. The breeder does not state a harvest date, a height or a yield per plant for this. In our shop the strain is rated for a harvest in October, which is to be understood only as an approximation. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot where the flowers stay dry in autumn. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Neon Sunshine
In the aroma of Neon Sunshine, the combination of fruity sweetness and gas takes centre stage: according to Exotic Genetix, the Zkittlez mother contributes the fruity-sweet side, Falcon-9 the fuel-like note. The breeder speaks of bright terpenes but names neither individual terpenes nor a lab terpene profile. Added to this is the pronounced resin production that Exotic Genetix highlights. The breeder gives no information on the effect, and it does not state a THC value – so we do not add any estimates. However, it describes the pollen donor Falcon-9 as potent; so proceed with caution with your first harvest. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and personal tolerance.
