Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Notorious THC
The name says it all: according to its own statement, Humboldt Seed Company bred Notorious THC because the market places so much value on THC – combined with the warning to be careful what you wish for. As parents, the breeder lists three strains: Ghost of Von Humboldt × Caramel Cream × Humboldt Frost. The strain is Indica-dominant with 65% Indica and 35% Sativa. The manufacturer gives the average THC content as 25 to 30%; it does not state a CBD value. The terpenes, it says, have not been sacrificed in the process. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. If you want to select or breed, you will also find the strain as regular seeds: Notorious THC Regular.
Who Is Notorious THC For?
Notorious THC is bred for potency and production. It suits:
- Consumers with a high tolerance who are looking for very strong strains
- Lovers of gas, fuel and Kush aromas
- Growers who would like to harvest large, dense colas and can support them
- Outdoor gardeners in locations with a warm, dry October
- Terpene fans who pay attention to myrcene-dominated profiles
The strain is not very suitable for occasional consumers or for regions where autumn turns wet and cold early. You can find more Indica-influenced strains under Indica strains.
Growing Notorious THC: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Humboldt Seed Company gives the flowering time as 65 days, i.e. a good nine weeks after the switch to 12/12. The breeder promises huge production with dense, gigantic colas; it does not state figures in g/m² or a height. Such heavy flower clusters need support: a net or stakes prevent shoots from snapping under the weight. Because dense colas release moisture poorly, strong air movement and controlled humidity pay off in the final weeks. The intense gas aroma also makes a powerful carbon filter necessary. The Growpedia provides background knowledge on climate and managing flowering.
Outdoor Growing
For open ground, the manufacturer states a harvest window from 5 to 20 October. Depending on the location, ripening can therefore take until the second half of October – a spot with a long, sunny autumn is therefore important, and in damp regions a greenhouse offers more security. Outdoors, too, you can expect large, dense colas that should be supported and checked after rain. Humboldt Seed Company does not give a yield per plant or a growth height. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Notorious THC
Humboldt Seed Company describes the aroma with two terms: jet fuel and wet paint, i.e. kerosene and wet varnish, plus a pure Kush aroma that the breeder calls lung-expanding. The manufacturer gives a terpene profile in mg/g: myrcene 6.45, β-caryophyllene 2.83, α-pinene 2.71, β-pinene 1.38, limonene 1.12, α-caryophyllene 0.91, linalool 0.63 and camphene 0.06. Myrcene therefore clearly dominates. It lists the effect as an Indica effect and speaks of a mind-expanding, philosophical high. With an average of 25 to 30% THC, Notorious THC is exceptionally strong – the breeder itself urges caution. Start with very small amounts; how intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
