Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Orange Hill Special
Orange Hill Special belongs to Dutch Passion's “Orange” family. The breeder describes it as an exceptional Orange Skunk selection, developed from the genetics of Orange Bud and Californian Orange – two stable strains that go back to the eighties. Breeding went on for six generations to obtain a stable, strong Orange Skunk with many orange hairs, large yields and a lemon flavour. The result is a hybrid with 50% Indica and 50% Sativa and 21% THC; Dutch Passion calls it the bushiest and highest-yielding member of the Orange family. According to the manufacturer, it was developed by the same breeder who also created Power Plant, The Ultimate, Skunk #11, Euforia and Master Kush. This item contains regular seeds, from which male and female plants grow. With Californian Orange, you will also find one of the two parent strains in our range.
Who Is Orange Hill Special For?
Orange Hill Special is a low, bushy Skunk selection. It suits:
- Fans of Dutch Passion's Orange family
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who set up their own crosses with male plants
- Indoor growers who prefer low plants of around one metre
- Consumers who appreciate a high with a powerful body stone
If you want only female plants without any selection work, you are better served by feminised seeds; for open ground, moreover, the manufacturer names only warm climate zones. You can find more regular lines under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Orange Hill Special: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Dutch Passion, Orange Hill Special typically stays low, at around one metre, and forms many side branches with plenty of sticky flowers. It needs 8 to 9 weeks of flowering to reach maturity. The breeder gives a clear pointer on feeding: only a few nutrients are needed at first, whereas the plant tolerates a lot during flowering. Dutch Passion does not state a yield in g/m² but speaks of large yields. As the seeds are regular, you should germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep and remove male specimens in pre-flowering unless pollination is wanted. You will find the basics on feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For open ground, Dutch Passion expressly names warm climate zones: there, Orange Hill Special is ready for harvest around mid-October, and in the southern hemisphere in mid-April. According to the manufacturer, up to 450 g is possible from a well-grown plant. In the shop the strain is rated for indoor growing; in cooler regions with a damp autumn, growing under glass or in the grow room is the safer choice. The breeder does not give a plant height for outdoors. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Orange Hill Special
Dutch Passion names a lemon flavour for Orange Hill Special; at harvest, the flowers carry many orange hairs. The breeder gives no more precise details on the scent in the strain description. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as a great high with a massive, relaxing body stone – a combination of head and body effect, then, of the kind that fits a 50/50 hybrid. According to Dutch Passion, the THC content is 21%. With regular seeds, individual plants can differ from one another in aroma and strength, which makes the strain interesting for selection. How intense the effect is in an individual case depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.
