Growing Orient Express: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Orient Express flowers for 8 to 10 weeks. Ace Seeds describes compact, dense and resinous growth with excellent branching and strong branches; the manufacturer does not state a height in centimetres or a yield in g/m², and it rates the yield as high. As the optimum temperature it gives about 25 °C for the vegetative phase and the first four weeks of flowering; in the last month of flowering it should drop to 20 °C. Nutrient requirements are high: for maximum yields, Ace Seeds recommends generous feeding up to the sixth week of flowering. You will find the basics on climate and feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Orient Express is ready for harvest in early October and very adaptable. It has been grown successfully across the entire Iberian Peninsula and also works in colder climate zones such as southern France or Eastern Europe; it is suitable up to the 45th parallel. Ace Seeds rates the resistance to grey mould and whitefly as well as the cold and heat tolerance as average to high, and the resistance to powdery mildew and spider mites as average. The breeder does not state a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Orient Express
Ace Seeds describes the bouquet of Orient Express as deep and organic – it is meant to be reminiscent of a living rainforest. The flavour is dense and earthy with floral nuances that linger on the tongue for a long time. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It classes the effect as a balanced Sativa-Indica effect: the body relaxes, the head stays clear. Elsewhere, Ace Seeds speaks of a pleasantly relaxing effect. The breeder gives the THC content as 12 to 18%, the CBD content as less than 1%. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
