Passion Nr. 1 Regular 10 seeds

Genetics & Origin of Passion Nr. 1

Passion Nr. 1 has held its own in the Dutch Passion catalogue for decades. According to the breeder, it appeared as a Californian Indica in the early 1970s and reached Dutch growers via Dutch Passion in the early 1980s, where it earned a reputation as a strong, stable strain. The manufacturer does not reveal which original lines it was created from or how the Indica and Sativa shares are distributed. Dutch Passion has measured THC levels of almost 20%; a CBD value is missing from the strain description. The strain was developed exclusively for growing outdoors and in the greenhouse. It is photoperiod and available here as regular seed: it produces male and female plants, which makes it interesting for selection and for producing your own seeds. Also as regular seed from Dutch Passion, we stock Hollands Hope Regular.

Who Is Passion Nr. 1 For?

Passion Nr. 1 is an outdoor strain with a long history. It suits:

• Outdoor gardeners with room for plants of two metres and more
• Greenhouse growers looking for a line proven over decades
• Selectors and hobby breeders who work with regular seeds
• Lovers of a smooth, mild flavour with a fresh citrus note
• Consumers who appreciate a fast-acting, stimulating high

It is not intended for the grow room: Dutch Passion expressly rules out indoor growing. And if you only want female plants without any selection work, feminised seeds are the better choice. You can find more proven regular lines under Classics and Landraces.

Growing Passion Nr. 1: Indoor & Outdoor

Indoor Growing

According to Dutch Passion, Passion Nr. 1 is not suitable for indoor growing under artificial light: the strain was developed exclusively for open ground and greenhouses. The breeder therefore gives no figures on flowering time, height or yield in the grow room. The protected option is the greenhouse, where the plants grow under natural light but are safe from rain and wind. Because regular seeds produce both sexes, germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep and remove male plants in pre-flowering unless pollination is wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.

Outdoor Growing

If you start early in the season outdoors, you can get plants of up to 3.5 m, according to Dutch Passion; 2 m is more typical. On average, the breeder states 250 to 750 g per plant, and over 1.5 kg under optimal conditions. According to the breeder, most plants are ready for harvest in September, while some need until early October. The long, compact flowers are densely covered in resin. When trimming the harvest, Dutch Passion advises removing only the large fan leaves, because the small leaves are often dripping with resin themselves. Tall plants need supports. Only grow where it is legal to do so.

Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Passion Nr. 1

Dutch Passion describes the flavour of Passion Nr. 1 as smooth and mild, accompanied by a fresh citrus note. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to the manufacturer, the effect sets in very quickly and initially shows as a strong, extremely stimulating up high. If you consume more, according to the breeder you will also feel a strong, pleasant stoned effect – so the strain has two faces depending on the amount. Dutch Passion has measured THC levels of almost 20% and therefore calls the strain a very attractive choice for the garden or greenhouse. With regular seeds, individual plants can differ in aroma and strength. How intense the effect is in an individual case depends on phenotype, harvest time, dose and individual tolerance.

Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
